josyjosy Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Okay, so my friend brought his friend to my birthday dinner. The guy was super cute! He ended up sitting next to me during the dinner and we were talking the entire time. He did ask for my number for a legitimate reason, he had to text me his address because we were gonna go to his place and my friend's place after dinner. So my friends and i went to their place and we all had a good time. We drank but no one was really drunk. No one i dont think was even buzzed. It was just a really laid back get together. Anyway, my friends and i left, and as soon as we left, the guy texted me. We both texted back and forth for quite a bit but it was getting late so i told him i was going to bed and said goodnight. He responded and said "goodnight. text me tomorrow???" We joked around for a bit about it and finally i said okay i will. So the next day, i got up pretty late but i didnt text him right away. I finally texted him and nothing. He didnt respond at all and i thought he might be waiting for a few days to respond but nope, he hasnt at all. So i thought its kinda weird. Why did he tell me to text him and sounded so interested the night before and then nothing the next day? I am really interested in this guy but i dont wanna seem desperate or clingy or needy so i havent texted him since. I know there could be a number of reasons. My biggest fear is that maybe he didnt get my text since ive been having trouble with fone reception. I did see him online on fb 2 days after the text and decided to send him a quick message on fb chat but no response. Then again, this isnt the first time dumb facebook screwed me over with the chat thing because its always lagging. So i dont know if he saw my message or not. I thought maybe he got drunk after we left but its kinda impossible since he texted me as soon as we left and we havent stopped texting since (atleast for the night) and he definitely was not even close to being drunk when i left. So whats the deal?? Should i text him again??

Maybe he has a girl already, maybe he just had fun flirting, etc. In the future (or if you do decide to contact him again) CALL the person! But-- I would say this is definitely a LAUNCH.
creighton0123 Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 1. Text messages almost always send. If you have trouble with reception, the msg's will send when the signal is strong 2. Facebook chat msg's can be completely missed if you close the browser without checking the message. He could either not be interested, think you're coming on too strong, be a complete flake, be playing games, or simply not have gotten the text. There are two problems here: 1. If he is any of the things listed before not getting the text, he is rude, dishonest, and inconsiderate. Not worth your time. 2. Texting is not a good way to pursue the possibility of romance. It's impersonal and prone to miscommunication. Don't text him again. If he's interested, he'll get in touch with you.
