We all have worries, issues and problems with/about our children. But one thing's for certain, there are some very precious moments, some so heartbreakingly sweet or funny that the negative moments all melt away to meaninglessness.

With this in mind, plse share your happy moments. Don't ever forget to tell your children that you love them.

I love watching or hearing H. and Bump during bathtime, most nights. When I go in and watch them, H. stays dry. When I don't watch them, the bathroom ends up wet and so does H. Follow me?

Not sure what they do besides play with their host of terry towel hand puppets and other tub toys. I can hear them laughing away, water splashing everywhere and other strange sounds. Whatever they do, the nights that H. gives him his bath, Bump falls asleep pretty quickly afterwards. Boys and their toys. I love my men, both big and little. They're so incredibly precious to me.

Our bathtime has taken on a new dimension of hilarity too.

WB has recently learned to put her head under water in the swimming pool.

The other day in the bath she proceeded to splash around extra energetically while laughing like a maniac, then kept dunking herself underwater. There were bubbles in the bath, so every time she came up she had a bubble beard/moustache....and I was soaking wet!

the times you wish you had a video camera...

I also love it when she walks up to me and wraps her arms around my knees and says "awwww", which is our hug noise..

There are SO many, but one that really sticks in my mind was when my daughter had just turned 4 months old. I came out of the grocery store, and I had a bag of groceries in one arm and her in the other, hanging on one hip. I kind of hitched her up a little higher on my hip as I was getting ready to open the car door, and in doing so I gave her a little bounce. She laughed -for the first time. It was SO damn cute! I just stood there looking at her and laughing and crying (just a little :o).

Nice thread, by the way. :)

What about non-parents who have loving moments with their friends' children? I love getting welcome hugs from my friends' kiddos. I think my clock might be starting to tick... I'm feelin' the ...

Since my children are older there are so many. I think them climbing into my bed to watch a movie is my favorite...but they still grace me with their presence around this time of year to watch Jingle All the Way or Christmas Vacation.:love::love:

Children have the most heart warming infectious laughs. I love hearing them. There is a video on YouTube of laughing quints...it makes me smile on those long days.

I have two little sisters who are both 8 now, and I've adored them since they were born (I'm 15 years older than they are, so the dynamic is less sisterly and more motherly). Since our mother isn't in their lives, and they are being raised by our aunt, I help out by taking them on weekends and LOVE it.

Though there are hard times mixed liberally with the good (one sister has a behavioral disorder), there are times in the middle of our busy days when they will just stop what they are doing and say, "I love you." Just out of nowhere. My heart melts, and it's like an instant high--to know that they are happy and that I must be doing something right.

I have a baby daughter of my own now, and sometimes she gets really quiet and just LOOKS at me, and I get the feeling that she's thinking the same thing my sisters say. It just makes my whole day better, to know the feelings I experience for these children so intensely--love, devotion, loyalty--are returned. :)

My twin girls are almost 5 months old. Absolutely the best part of the day is when I come to their bed at 2:30 AM for their "middle-of-the-night-feeding" and wake them up. As soon as I stir each one they stretch and get a smile from ear-to-ear. I've never seen anything so beautiful or have anything absolutely melt me like that.

There are so many moments I cherish and she's only 1! I have to say one of my favorite things about my Moochie<--- her pet name is when she's sleepy she'll walk up to me and put her head in my lap. If I pick her up and cuddle with her she'll rub my face and smile. :) Nothing jerks the heartstrings like that

As I was driving my hungry teenage son home from playing in the band for a basketball game he was pondering what to eat when he got there. I told him I had prime rib slices that had been simmering all day in broth, along with already sautéed onions and green peppers. I said, "If you clean the kitty boxes, I'll put you a sandwich together. I have hogie buns, so all I have to do is put the meat and veggies on it, top it with provalone, and put it under the broiler with the onion rings that need to be warmed up." He says, "Okay, I just have to give you a hug now," and he did so while I was still driving him home. lol It was nice to see that my 16 year old knows how to show appreciation in this age when many teenagers haven't a clue.

I'm with Star Gazer...in that I don't yet have kids, but my H and I regularly swap stories about the cute thing one of our nephews or nieces has just done. (I hope it's okay to share a few of those moments.) :)

My 4 year old niece is the subject of many of these stories. Last summer, for instance, my then-fiance had her on his shoulders. They were laughing and giggling, when suddenly my niece exclaimed: "Gasp - look at your blind spot!" and proceeded to grab the sides of his head and yank his head forward so the rest of us could see...his bald spot. It's been his "blind spot" ever since.

More recently, I was babysitting a couple of weeks ago. My niece has two older brothers and is particularly close to the 8-year old - they really adore each other. She is looking forward to Valentine's Day, and said at one point: "Sunshinegirl, did you know that every time I look at my brother my eyes turn to hearts?"

Equally cute are the obvious influences her brothers have had on her. She was hiding under her bed one time but I could hear her voice, so I started referring to her as a ghost whose voice I was hearing. She poked her head out from under the bed and said, "but I thought that when you die you become a zombie!"

And finally...her oldest brother had a pet frog, George, that died after a long and happy life in their household. That night, my niece asked where George was since he wasn't in his cage. The 8 year old explained that George was now in heaven. My niece rolled her eyes and said "don't be silly - he can't jump that high!"

Had a moment like that this morning. My oldest son grabbed a weekend leave from the Coast Guard and made a surprise visit (!) He left first thing this morning, and we gave each other a big hug. For a brief millisecond, I was hugging the five-year-old coming in grinning with pockets full of rocks and bugs.

It goes by quick, folks.

One time, when the little one that I nanny for was 3, he grabbed my shirt out of nowhere to get my attention. I said "What is it, monkey?" and he said "I'm just happy."

I've had a lot of great moments with my girls this year. We moved 45 minutes closer to the city and are now walking distance from school, ten minutes from work. I have so much more time and energy for them. Seven yr old and I are reading Little House on the Prairie. She's at a really cute stage right now b/c her two front teeth are missing.

Twelve yr old is going to her first dance this Friday.

A recent hilarious moment was after I showed them a few Monty Python sketches on Youtube and they started walking around the house saying, "Is your wife a goer? Does she go?"

"Are you insinuating something?"

"Nudge, nudge. Wink, wink. Say no MORE!"

I hugged my little boy before work while he was eating breakfast and watching Caillou and I can see your type of moment in my future..
