I think it's quite lovely actually. I feel like the ocean.

And the ocean also receives all rivers. :)

Some believe that salt water cures..I know that I am most at peace when I am near the ocean.

Salt water cures life with a delusional death :p However I do agree that the ocean brings peace. I live near the beach and its absolutely beautiful to walk and clear your head.

I wish I lived closer to the beach. I am about 10 minutes drive at the moment. I may drive myself down there tonight. I am on holidays from work now. I feel like having a walk near the ocean and listening to some music tonight, by myself.

Everyone is in control of their own happiness.

Yeah of course they are, I guess you're the sort that goes up to someone with no legs and tells them to stop being silly and that they're in control of their own ability to walk just because you are!

Dear Mrs Serotonin-Lack

Stop being silly, you're in control of your own serortonin levels like I am!

Sincerely,

Star Gazer

6.5. Maybe just a 6.

18 inch deep snow might be pretty to look at, but I sincerely hope that once Christmas is over it will do the decent thing and bugger off. I can't get to the gym (road there is too steep and dangerous to chance it), go cycling or do any of the things I like doing. This is the coldest winter I can ever remember, and normally I don't feel as though winter is really underway until it gets to January.

Moan, moan, moan. I will never be so glad to see the first snowdrops of spring appear as I will in 2011.

Brutal honesty please.

I am currently a 2.

.

Brutally honest?

All things considered I should be a 2, as well.

But I CHOOSE to be an 11.

No schyt.

I know people with no legs and arms who are much, much happier than you...

We should swap places. I grew up in Eastern Europe and I always associate Christmas with snow. It feels weird here in Australia that it's summer at this time of year... I always LOL at santas sweating in their suits.

Sure, but those people are exceptions.

I would very happily forego a traditional Christmas right now, and opt instead for a shrimp from the barbie and a swim in the Indian Ocean.

It is pretty. All the buildings have got icicles hanging from them. Natural Christmas decorations everywhere. I'd still prefer to be swimming in the Indian Ocean though.

Incidentally, those people would appear much happier than you as well.

I've seen a few videos of Nick Vujicic. He's great - really big personality.

Years ago, I knew this girl who only had one arm. She competed in a sport that I competed in - and even though it was one where you generally would need two arms, she was really successful. Watching that video reminded me of one of her tricks. She'd put her stump in her mouth, walk into a shop and make panicked faces at the staff.

To be fair, I think people like that are exceptions - which is why we remember them, or watch youtube videos of them. For a lot of other people with disabilities, life is going to be a big struggle with a lot of tears and frustrations. Which I'm sure Nick Vujicic has probably gone through too.

It's the less palatable side. Nobody wants to see a limbless person sitting on a table talking about how sh*tty their life is....so Nick Vujicic serves a purpose in giving people a feel good buzz. "See - it doesn't need to be that bad." Except that sometimes it is going to be that bad, and sometimes there's no cure other than to accept that you're going through a crappy phase and resolve to get the strength to see the bad time through until life is on the up again.

Happy people should stay out of my thread

Nah, you guys deserve it. I actually talk about you two in real life. I was telling a story how I know this couple that met on an online forum blah blah blah and how they only see each other for few weeks per year etc etc And people usually go "Are you serious? That works?" WOW

You should feel very flattered that you have made it into my regular stories repertoire - I never say the actual name of the forum though :D
