These are just some quotes, poems and saying that I often refer back when the going gets tough, and I am really tempted to break NC.

On some quotes, I did not succeed in tracing back who the original sources are, since they were retweeted by the users. If anyone can enlighten me on this, I will appreciate it.

Hope these help you cope and stick to NC as well.

Let the right one in. Let the old dreams die. Let the wrong ones go. They cannot do. What you want them to do. (Morrissey)

Lord, I believe in You and You believe in me. Let's continue working together. (Paulo Coelho)

If you are brave enough to say goodbye, you might just be lucky enough to get a new hello. (Anon)

If you act like you are okay, the rest of you will catch up. (John DeVore)

Change. But start slowly, because direction is more important than speed. (Paulo Coelho)

When you remember how hard it is to change yourself, you begin to understand what little chance we have of changing others. (Via @MarryTheWrongGuy)

If you are emailing someone who gives you that unrequited love feeling, the less you write, the more face you save. (Via @DatingOptimist)

It's sometimes lonely at the top, but the people you meet there are top-rate! (Via @SusanJaeElliott)

Grief is a process, not a destination in which to wallow. (Anon)

Love is letting go. Faith is knowing the right one will stick. Grace is the right one sticking. (Via @TheDailyLove)

In order to get where you are going, you must let go of where you have been. (Anon)

Hitting bottom is a good thing. It means you can only go up. And you can. (Via @SusanJaeElliott)

Don't let your emotional reflex reactions cloud your judgement of what's really going on. Be mindful. (Via @OrnaRoss)

No matter who they are, don't compare your insides to other people's outsides. (Via @SusanJaeElliott)

The key to recovery is to stop practising the addiction first, and then start talking about it; not the other way around. (Robin Norwood)

Insanity is repeating the same action expecting different results. (Albert Einstein)

Anything worth doing is hard. (Anon)

My dear friend, let go

Letting go doesn’t mean giving up, but rather accepting that there are things that cannot be.

-- Anon

Wishful thinking makes you weak. True intentions keep you strong. (Via @OrnaRoss)

Everything is ok in the end. If it's not ok, it's not the end. (Anon)

Love is an action, and actions speak louder than words.

If nothing changes, nothing changes, and the only thing you can change is you. (Via @SusanJaeElliott)

The best thing you can do to meet someone of quality is to work to make yourself a person of quality. Then, they will find you. (Christian Dodd)

Some think it's holding on that makes one strong; sometimes it's letting go.

-- Sylvia Robinson

If someone you love hurts you cry a river, build a bridge, and get over it.

People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."

********************************* - Marilyn Monroe.

I'm a slow walker, but I never walk back. ~Abraham Lincoln

Begin with the end in mind. - Steven Covey

Prayer of Faith

We trust that beyond absence there is a presence.

That beyond the pain there can be healing.

That beyond the brokenness there can be wholeness.

That beyond the anger there may be peace.

That beyond the hurting there may be forgiveness.

That beyond the silence there may be the word.

That beyond the word there may be understanding.

That through understanding there is love.

– anon

A silly idea is current that good people do not know what temptation means. This is an obvious lie. Only those who try to resist temptation know how strong it is. A man who gives in to temptation after five minutes simply does not know what it would have been like an hour later. That is why bad people, in one sense, know very little about badness.

(C.S. Lewis)

If there is something to desire,

there will be something to regret.

If there is something to regret,

there will be something to recall.

If there is something to recall,

there was nothing to regret.

If there was nothing to regret,

there was nothing to desire.

(Four Poems by Vera Pavlova)

Thanks for putting that together. There were some real standouts in there for me.

Cheers :)

I like this one:

The longer you stay stuck in a dead-end relationship or spend your days mourning one, the less time you get on this planet to experience a great one.

Hello, b_rouse. May I ask what general area of Michigan you're in? I live in the Metro Detroit area (Oakland Co). You're really pretty, we're both (obviously) single.. I know this isn't a dating site (LOL), but I'd love to send you some pics of me and chat with you! :) If you live in the same area, of course. I'm 36, single, never married, no kids.. 5'11", dark brown hair, brown eyes, very handsome and cuddly :) LOL

I told you b_rouse! You will have NO PROBLEMS having a TON of men that would be HONORED to date you.

Yes, your EX was / is an utter and complete MORON!!!! He will never find anyone else like you... It is plain to see from your posts, that you "get it".... which is rare! So what does that make you?

A Priceless Treasure!

Dude... I love the fact that you see a young lady that you would like to get to know better and go for it... Major props!

Having said that, if you "knew" b_rouse... She is a lot deeper than you give her credit for... I'm not getting the superficial vibe from her. All you mentioned aside from wanting to cuddle are your "stats". Women (and I suspect b_rouse), hate it when men give them a resume...

Can you imagine John Wayne or Clint Eastwood giving out their stats when asking a women out? I don't.

Let "YOU" speak for YOU!

Oh, I'd be more than happy to. But, first, before I do all that, I need to see if she lives anywhere near me. She could live in the Upper Peninsula, for all I know! LOL And, she may not even see this post. Just thought I'd try to get a response first.

First off... Again, props to you for asking... You have great taste!

Second - Yes... she will see it.

Third - If she is in the Upper Peninsula, based on her posts (you can tell she is very sweet and special) and her picture... She still be worth it.

Good luck! If it works out, do I get and invite to the wedding?

All great quotes. Thank you for posting. I found the one by Lincoln to be very cool :-)

Some quotes to help you realize that they were not the one, and the one for you is out there looking and waiting for you.

To the world you might be one person, but to one person you might be the world.

You can control your actions, but you cannot control the consequences.

I like this quote, basically says that everything has a consequence whether you like it or not so pick the right action.
