aimeeg Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 i am seventeen for starters, i was on a birth control pill from april until september. it totally changed me and i hated it, so i went off the pill. three weeks later i felt better so i decided to try a new pill, which had twice the estrogen in it.. after a week and a half i went back off of this new pill because i hated the way it made me also. ever since then (around late september) i have felt the same and i hate it. i am not fully attracted to my boyfriend anymore, i have no sex drive, i have mood swings, i'm easily angered, i cry for no reason, i don't want to be touched, and i've never been like this in my life so i don't know what's going on.. i saw 'hormonal imbalance' and am wondering if that is what this could be from. if anyone has/had hormonal imbalance PLEASE comment and tell me what you experienced, and how you treat/treated it. and if you know anything period please reply, i'm desperate and love my boyfriend and this is putting a huge strain on our relationship!
alwayshoping Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Some people just don't agree with certain OCP's (Oral Contraceptive Pills). See your doctor. Tell him all of this and he will recommend a new treatment. If Oestrogen made it worse why did you try another with double the strength? Perhaps ask for the progesterone only pill (POP)? If you still feel like this after stopping treatment maybe its not to do with the medication? Either way best thing is to see a doctor. The POP is not as effective as combined treatment (oestrogen and progesterone) but lots of women find it helpful. The doctor can also discuss other types of treatment, such as your bf wearing protection, or perhaps IUCD's (Intrauterine contraceptive devices) amongst many others. Basically you need to see a dr and try other types of contraception until you find one that suits you. Thats all I know from memory of our contraceptive lecture but hope it helps x
