Why do people flake?

I've recently stopped dating a girl but I'd really like to know why she was a no show alot of the time? It seemed to be 50/50 everytime we arranged something. At the start she was all over me like a rash then I would offer to cook her dinner and after saying she couldn't wait to see me and would be there in an hour would not show up, turn off her mob then I'd hear from her 3 days later saying she had to work late and tried to phone me and it was one of many terrible excuses, now this infurated me and I knew obviously it was bollocks but my question is why? Why keep someone going like that? I mean I gave her plenty of opportunities and would say now if you can't make it it's ok but no she would be adamant she'd be there and would completely flake, I would just never ever dream of doing something like this it's extremely cruel, surely a simple no is so much easier? Any responses would be greatly appreciated be it people who have done it or experienced it being done to them

We've all had 'that' or something similar done to us. Forget about the reasons as to why. You just need to know this isn't the type of person you want to be in a relationship. The sooner you ditch these types of people the better.

 

I had something similar happen once. Except at it was cancellations instead of no-shows. I hung on, kept trying, and got my heart handed to me on a platter. Save yourself from these flaky people.

She's flaky, who cares why. If you do, you shouldn't. If you don't like flaky girls, dump them and stop thinking about them. You're just poisoning your mind.

Why waste your time on a flakey girl dude? You're wasting your life. Don't waste your emotional well being and valuable time on flakey girls like I've done countless times in the past.
