O'Malley Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 (edited) If you're looking for a serious relationship, have sex not just when you're ready to but when you're comfortable that you share compatible views and needs. You're the only one who can set that timeline. What ever the judgment on someone who has sex on initial dates or very early in the stages, sex early on does tend to become more of the focus and blurs the actual emotional and mental connection (or lack of). The sexual chemistry might be strong, but you simply aren't compatible in other important aspects. That kind of overall sexual/mental/emotional connection usually can't be established in initial dates, and I agree that people who feel there is intimacy that quickly after having early on sex tend to get labeled as 'clingy'.
