You know what I realize? Is that after time I lose that drive to push harder. What I mean is that when time goes by and things get a little easier, the more I do let go and not really care(not in a bad way), that anger that I had and that emotions, like waves on an ocean, and hostility, pushed me to work out harder, eat better, but it still remains that this is much easier then even the drive.

Since realizing this I push myself even harder!!! Carhill’s signature is not just about NC, it’s the way to live at peace with one’s self. It’s understanding your limits and playing the cards you were dealt… hey, guess what! A lot of us got dealt crappy cards, but we gotta bluff the limits and never FOLD!

There are always ways out, it’s up to us to take action when we make each choice. We can progress together. Time is this life, time management only capitalizing on freedom. I fear the day my choices land me in situations I can’t help but be subdued. Hopefully I can just stay out of trouble and make my parents proud… I love life. I love it that we don’t actually know which ways up or which ways down. We speculate, we judge, and we love each other.

Good God I read what I wrote: I even confuse myself.

So ya those are my goals right now… work out . And drink water haha

Be strong . Be safe. And be you J

This is exactly it. Willpower and concentrated effort are the only things at our disposal. Life is far more circumstantial than just about anybody will admit, and there are things far beyond our control that affect and change us. You could do everything properly, even if dealt the best hand, and always make the proper decision for yourself, and still suffer and die to circumstance.

However, there are only two options:

1. Deny your fate. Deny your own life, it's circumstances, your lack of control, explanation, understanding and purpose. People do this in all sorts of ways. Negative thinking and defeatism, looking to fantasy and illusion, subscribing to lies about oneself. You can go through the motions without purpose, feel sorry for yourself, end yourself...

2. Accept the life condition. Everybody is dealt a hand with no control, but everybody experiences things relatively from their own perspective. It matters not really what things happen to you or what you have or how much suffering you will experience, because everybody experiences joy and pain relatively to each other. If you live in a developed nation and have a lot of physical wealth, you may never endure the hardships faced by somebody struggling to survive in a tumultuous, poor nation. But everybody experiences a variety of emotions in relation to their varying experiences, and everybody classifies their experiences in relationship to each other. Nothing can be judged without being judged against something else, because there is no absolute standard. The only thing that really matters, that can be controlled, is how we approach the situation we are in, and how we control the things we have control over.

You can make the decision that no negative event will drain your motivation. You can make the decision that your emotions don't matter in relationship to your actions. If you perfect your own locus of control, no matter how small, you find happiness and self confidence. You don't have to feel down or negative when negative things happen to you as long as you know you are playing those cards properly. Never mistake people who may have more or achieve more with relative ease as being in any way better or more deserving of such things by default.

This is always a bitter sweet thought to me, that in a way I use the suffering of others as help for me to feel less sympathy for my loss's and grievences. I wonder how it would feel to be dealt that kind of hand, I hope that somehow in never expierencing the luxuries of a wealthy nation, that in their flight of this circumstantial world, that they may have found joy in a situation that I would know as absolute misery.

These are those guys and gals out there that you see as the person we all want to be. The cool, confident, whitty, and most comfortable with themselves and their surroundings kind of people. It's such a good feeling to be rid of your own drama. We can't control what is brought to us, but we can control what we present to others.

Thanks YB, You're very insightful.

I don't see it as being a valid excuse to feel less intense emotions from your own particular point of view. I think that your hope is exactly right. I actually think that even though it may seem like a really difficult lifestyle to us, it's likely more in line with our natural programming. I think people are far more likely to be genuinely unhappy in our unnatural, utilitarian capitalist society than in what we consider to be brutal conditions.

Your life cannot be ruined by heroine addiction if you never use it, and you will never feel deprived for not having hot water and a 9-5 if you never experienced it. Our lifestyles must be as incomprehensible to them as theirs are to us.

There must be moments of joy for all people. It is part of the human condition. Some things are pleasurable, some things are discomforting, and these events happen at varying intervals. What is considered extremely discomforting to one person could be a normal part of life for another with none of the negative experience.

How satisfying is it in particular to stand at a rest or walk slowly? Compare that with how satisfying it is to stand still or walk slowly after running 4 or 5 miles. Experiences of joy are contrasted from pain, as in they are not absolutely defined. Suffering is as essential as any other part of human life, as it would be horrifically boring without it.

Consider this quote from Anne Frank's diary, given all of her negative circumstances and the denial of a potential life that was just starting to bloom:

"If I just think of how we live here, I usually come to the conclusion that it is a paradise compared with how other Jews who are not in hiding must be living," Saturday, 1 May, 1943"

Throughout the diary, you see so many examples of the happiness the individuals in the attic find despite the awful circumstances of the time period. Would you really undermine the passionate life experience of Anne Frank as being less happy or sad, good or bad, than any other? Simply because it is tragic?

Just thoughts that are running through my head. Sorry if this all seems out of the blue, I'm trying to justify some newly held beliefs by thinking through them and laying them out in an orderly fashion.
