Have you ever called up an old flame? By old flame I mean the ones where you had a few dates but things just fizzled. I had a couple good dates with this girl three months ago but it died and I never really knew what happened. I've been thinking about her the last couple of days. What do you think? Give her a call? Has anyone in here had something spark back up after letting it rest for a few months? I'd be interested to know.

i had a similar situation, but it fizzled out because I didn't like him as much as he liked me. Out of lonliness I contacted him a few months later but when I met up with him it was clear to me that there were reasons it didnt work the first time.

Worth a shot though!

Going through this right now! He called me up last weekend. We chatted for a little bit, then he asked me if I like to go grab a Bite somewhere.

We had a great time and I'm happy he called me up. We lost touch because he was busy with work & was out of town often. I had stuff going on also.

Yes, the girl I fell head over heels for two months after we broke. She actually gave me a second chance andI blew it. I asked her to call me to setup the next date cause she was nearly impossible to get on the phone. Never heard from her. She's now back on Match after 2 years and I offered a Facebook friend request, but never heard back. After 2 months, I cancelled the request. That was the only girl I ever dated which I would actually marry. Man, I have to live with that failure every day. What an ********* I am.

Two other ex's called me to reconnect. The first one we talked, but that's it. The second one, who flaked on me, we met for dinner and just showed her how everything was going well and what she could had if she played her cards right. It was worth the price of dinner. She actually paid for her share, then said she had no money to get back to the city so I gave it back. She said she would give it back to me. Never heard from her again. Plus, she gained like 40 LBS and dropped out of her masters degree. No loss there. She had nice tatas though.

I guess I have nothing to lose. It's not like I'd have to swallow my pride. We never actually broke it off, we just stopped talking at the same time.

To call or not to call...I say do it.

You only live once. It's not such a big deal.

I don't think it's a big deal either and it's not like she is an ex g/f. She was one of those "almost got her" but just didn't happen. I think if you're going to take a shot at something like this 3-6 months is the best timeframe. It's just one of those unknowns in life that you have to take a shot at.

With what you described, I say you have a good chance that she'll agree to see you again if she doesn't have a b/f. But it's not likely it will turn into anything.

I've done it quite a bit with old "flames" as you put it. If I dumped them, I don't think they've ever agreed to see me again. But, the ones that just fizzled were generally willing to meet up for a drink.

I've found that the second time around just doesn't have the newness and curiousness to keep it going past one date. Thus, it fizzles again. If you're both interested again it can certainly turn out to be something good.

The main thing is if she had feelings for you at some point during the first time around. If it fizzled because of outside reasons like she was too busy in life at the moment then you stand a fighting chance IMO. If she never had feelings the first time around then you're 100% doomed.

Also, don't text or email her. You'll have to call her.
