Sammy88 Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 I truly love my ex boyfriend very deeply. When we met I just had this feeling come over me like he was the person I was meant to be with. At the moment, we are in a NC agreement because things kept getting complicated between us after we broke up. He firmly maintains that he still loves me, but he is really over being in a relationship with me. He just doesn't want to do it anymore (which I honestly can understand and even feel the same way). But is there hope for us? My friend told me that I should treat this like a wound on my body. She says, "if you keep picking at it then it will never heal." Is it possible that he could retain his love for me? Is it possible that if I just give him space that we might be able to rekindle our relationship? Does anyone have a similar story (hopefully successful)? Should I hold on to hope or am I just kidding myself?
poorguy Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 How long were you together? How long have you been broken up? How bad did things get?

I know you said he was just tired of being in a relationship with you, but was there a lot of fighting/cheating? Or was it that he wanted to see what else is out there/wanted to just be single?
Author Sammy88 Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 Why did you split in the first place, specifically? I know you said he was just tired of being in a relationship with you, but was there a lot of fighting/cheating? Or was it that he wanted to see what else is out there/wanted to just be single? We split up because we argued all the time. We had both gotten to the point where we felt stifled by the other, but in the end he was the one to pull the plug. This happened about 3 months ago. He was just tired of dealing with my emotions and his emotions. He wanted a vacation from the drama so to speak. There was never any cheating. He and I were both very loving and devoted. I guess you could say that he just wanted to be single. He wanted to be by himself as he put it.
shocked_confused Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Hmm ya, you guys probably need a long break from each other then, so it's good that your doing NC. It's always possible that after a few months that both of you could realize that you want to be together and work on things. But its definitely a good idea to talk about your issues and how your going to deal with them if you do get back together. I have no experience in the "getting back together" part of the break up phase because my first serious boyfriend broke up with me a month ago and I'm onto the 3rd week of no contact. So if my advice sucks then i'm sorry! But there's tons of people on here that give great advice Best of luck to you, I hope everything works out.
Author Sammy88 Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 How long were you together tough? We were together for a little over a year
Leandro Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 hmmmm. Maybe yall just need some time apart. Work on some of your issues while sticking to NC. But please don't hope on anything.
