I think it is time to talk about the Narcissist. Many of us do not know why our ex, current love, husband, wife, etc. acts the way they do even though they certainly fit the gamet of several psychological disorders! lol.

After researching and reading so much about Narcissism, I happen to really believe that my ex is a NArcissist.

Has anyone ever dated or been married to a substance abusing Narcissist on these forums? I would love to hear your advice/ecperiences.

Thanks

I am currently with one (long story) and the only advice I can give others in dealing with a partner with this condition is to detach and leave as soon as humanly possible because more likely than not, they, like the emotional leeches they are, will eventually suck you dry and think you should thank them for the privilege.

My mother and grandmother are N. Think about movies such as Mommy Dearest and Sybil. I broke the mould by leaving permanently and not having a daughter of my own.

This is a subject that interests me immensely since it is helping me to understand that their sicknesses are not my fault. I will be in recovery for the rest of my life but I plan to make the best of it.
