I think she means she did NC for 3 months, but now they are talking again. And I am one guy who is in the process of rumination after cheating on my ex. It was a couple months ago, I'm only 18 (17 at the time) she was my first gf and I just didn't feel right at the time. It was only a kiss but I would have gone all the way so I consider myself cheating fully. I became depressed after that and tried to figure out my identity, as I thought I would never do this to someone I loved so much with all my heart. She forgave me, but I still felt depressed and anxious. Now I'm at college and had to let her go, a week ago at break she told me she was over me and moved on and realized that it was kind of dumb for her to be hung up on me. This whole experience has taken a toll on me, and I am still anxious and questioning everything: what makes me happy, who makes me happy, what is this feeling of sadness that is constantly occurring, with or without my ex. I need some time for self-discovery and am in therapy. Most people think it's wack that I am a person who has gotten ill because of one kiss, even after my gf forgave me. I can't figure it out, and believe me, I never thought I was capable of such a thing. I ruminate it till this day because that was the event that basically has me ruining my college experience at the moment. Cheating is the worst thing that could ever happen, and I do now realize that. I want to mature as much as I can before getting into another relationship again, and even re-evaluting what I want from such a relationship.

Now she's with some guy so much better than me, an athlete, but it isn't bothering me that much. I'm vry insecure also, if you couldn't tell. This whole thing just effed up my entire life. One stupid kiss.

oops sorry i guess i was not clear. thanks achokshi for clearing it up! thats exactly what i meant. after the break up i went 3 months without talking with him and we started talking again after the 3 months. Also achokshi i think its normal at a young age for things like that to happen, people get curious and want to see what else is out there, whether it is consciously or subconsciously. do people ever mean to cheat? some do (as they are those who are selfish and sick) and others dont expect they would do it but somehow they end up doing it. dont be so hard on yourself, realize people make mistakes especially at a young age, all you can do is learn from it.

I'd feel to ashamed to ever come back if I cheated on someone. It's not a position I've ever been in, but I don't see how anyone could do it unless it was for something like revenge.
