Second chances depend on who the dumper is?

I heard a nice little myth that if you were dumped by a woman chances of getting back together are a lot trickier than getting back with a man who has dumped you.

I have to disagree and say both circumstances would be equally hard to accomplish but would anyone care to guess why they think getting a second chance from a woman would be a lot more difficult than getting a second chance from a man?

From what I've seen on here, it does seem that it's harder to get a second chance with a women than it is a man.

Because most of the time a women has emotionally detached herself from the dumpee months or even years before the break up.

They usually already have someone else on the side, who they have become emotionally attached to while detaching themselves from the dumpee.

That's just what I think.

I think it could be. I mean it makes sense. Once we are emotionally detached, it's hard to want that person even sexually. I think many men mix up love and lust. They want to have sex with their exes even though they dumped them. If the ex is willing, it's because she still LOVES him and thinks it's a way to win him back. Hence, they get back together (but we know it usually doesn't work out.) Who knows, I never gave up on someone that I was in love with... and I can say I never fell out of love with anybody... I would love to hear what others say about this. Very interesting.

But men are also likely to detach as well before breaking it off with someone. They may not have someone waiting in the wings however. But once a man decides to break up with a woman, it is very hard to change his mind about that.

I guess it's just different with each person.

This is true, I was already moved on from my ex-wife at least 2 months prior to just calling it quits.
