humanracer25 Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 on the subject of POF can someone rate mine? http://www.plentyoffish.com/viewprofile.aspx?profile_id=23908813
Seamless74 Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 Seriously bro I hope you put up that link as a joke... Because one look at that picture with you and the rat or gerbil whatever that thing is totally puts you into freak catagory... "undateable" To the OP's point take a listen to what the women on this thread have said and quit overthinking your profile.. Its the pics bro.. Its all about the pics, if you were hot with a sixpack go shirtless (even though all the women will tell you not too) and wrote you were and axe murderer you would still get a response.. Online dating is a very shallow world on both sides,
BobSacamento Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 I don't know why people are hating on POF, I've had tons of dates from that site. Maybe work on yourself a bit.
dispatch3d Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 it's not cool with me saying I want a relationship while looking for casual sex. I feel like i'm going all madmax. That said you are going to hurt people with that attitude. Girls will start sleeping with you believing you will have a relationship with them, then you'll just cheat around and they'll get pissed (likely so). They may even hate guys more because of it. Personally I like to help people, and promote positive atmospheres/positive people. I think that will just result in a better society in general. So no I don't think it's cool at all what you are considering doing, and a lot of the PUA types also think its wrong (even the ones with very questionable ethics/morals). There is a lot better advice in this thread from women about what to put on a profile than in any other thread made though. What I take away from this is guys really should ask women what they look for in casual sex/**** buddies because the advice seems wayyyyyy better than when asking how to get a girlfriend (which generally results in generic advice that is incredibly not helpful and usually "boring").

This is all getting really confusing. I really only want a simple straight answer. Will using Flying's shortened profile idea be more attractive to girls in general (forget about whether or not they want a relationship, to date or just casual sex)?
that girl Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 You want casual sex and you're in college- you should be going to bars and parties not trying to online date. You keep saying how you want to have casual sex with hot girls and you don't care what their personality is like, so why the hell do you think a girl looking for casual sex is going to care that you like modern art? Why would she care about anything than how hot you are if she wants casual sex? You have this idea that you are somehow going to trick relationship minded girls into casual sex and it isn't going to happen. A hot, relationship minded girl who is online dating is going to spend a lot of time getting to know you before she sleeps with you. You're not going to hit it and quit it, you're going to get pissy about how she went on 4 dates with you and still hasn't slept with you. And yes, you're a jerk if you put relationship down when you are looking for casual sex. It is like a woman putting down "fit" as her body type and a few misleading face photos when she really weighs 400 pounds. Except it is even worse, the second a guy meets a 400 pound fit woman he knows what he is dealing with. You seem to want to try to manipulate girls into casual sex by pretending you want a girlfriend. And I don't even think it will work.

alexlakeman Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 I really don't want to plaster my pictures on here. I don't anyone who I MAY know to stumble on here and recognize me. If you want I can send you the link to the actual profile via private message. I'm a guy, so I am NOT interested, let's start there, lol..but I put my pic in my profile on here for instances such as this.. Unless someone specifically goes looking or you tell them they won't know.. You might want to do that, to help in the girls in the critiquing..
Author U1987 Posted December 8, 2010 Author Posted December 8, 2010 So I'm trying Phillyfan's profile on my fake account. In case you don't remember, my fake account is my "experimental" account; it has the same pictures and the descriptions I put up about me are true. The only difference is that it's in a city that's on the other side of the country. I live on the East Coast, but my profile says I live in Washington and I'm messaging Seattle girls. Since you only get one chance at a first impression, I want to practice profile-writing and messaging girls who I'll never meet far away, so I can get good before messaging girls around here. What do you think of these emails? A med student who likes techno and clubbing. That's that cool you study medicine. I'm a molecular bio major myself. I'm also a bit of a techno-fiend - I love Hed-Kandi, Justice and Grum. No glow sticks though haha. I saw Mauro Picotto and Carl Cox in Singapore - those shows were wild. Saw Tiesto in Connecticut too - that kinda sucked haha Seen any big DJs?Another girl with a short, vague profile saying she's a college student new to the area.Just read you moved here. Welcome (even though it's been a year haha) . She I'm sure you've found out already, but it's really easy to find something fun- even just wandering and exploring you'll find something. What are you studying by the way? A girl who seems bitter at online dating but wants to try something new; says she's traveled around the world too and likes museums. She says there are a lot of hotter girls on that site and hopes that she's not 3rd or 4th on a guy's list; seems pretty insecure, but she's pretty cute, which is what matters to me. I'm a bit of a museum nerd myself haha. I'm not a huge buff, but I like modern art exhibits (just saw a cool one of black, white and orange prints on tiny milk cartons) I play in a classic-rock and pop cover band, but I gotta be honest, I really enjoy jazz bands. It's too bad not to many people in this country do though. Where have you traveled? How do those sound?
welikeincrowds Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 U1987, what is your reaction to the criticism in this thread of your actions? That it is dishonest to pretend to be interested in a relationship for the purposes of attempting to "trick" a girl who wants commitment into having sex with you? You've been tasked to speak for yourself multiple times now, and each time you have dodged the question.

I'm sorry if you think it's bad, but I don't feel any shame or regret about it at all. I still insist it's not "trickery," though. I don't know why you think it is.

Author U1987 Posted December 8, 2010 Author Posted December 8, 2010 So like I said, how are my email ideas?
