I will become a bridemaid next month. This woke memories of my friend, jenny. She was engaged on Christmas. Tom gave her a cute little "Charming Tails" figurine of two mice. The male mouse is hiding a ring behind his back and the girl mouse looking surprised. The title of the figurine is "I've Got a Question for You." He gave that to her first, but she didn't catch on since she was holding the figurine by the ring and base, and ..... he was already pushing the second package into her hands!

The second present was a teddy bear with a gift wrapped box in her hand. In the box was the engagement ring! Now of course, the bear was dressed in a red and green dress, so she just thought that it was a "Christmas" bear! Tom literally had to tell her to open the present that the bear was holding!

Needless to say...She said yes!

Dream of one day i will have a unique wedding ,too^:)

You must mean engagement stories, yes? Because I could go on and on about our actual wedding. :) But I'll focus on the proposal.

In March of this year, my then-boyfriend and I started talking about getting married in the fall (we got married 10/10/10), and so I knew we would be getting engaged sometime in the spring. We went ring shopping together once, to get an idea of what style of ring I liked, but he would then choose something on his own.

By May, I knew that he had picked a ring and it was on order, but somehow he managed to convince me that it would take several weeks for it to come in. For that reason, I didn't expect him to propose the weekend we went to New Hampshire to his family's vacation home.

That Saturday, in NH, we went for a short hike to an old fire tower. At the top of the tower, we took in the view with me taking pictures. While I was doing that, he was getting the ring ready and setting up his Droid to film the proposal. I was oblivious.

After I took a few more pictures, he started saying "So I was thinking... since you've bought your wedding gown [i had, the weekend before], and our parents are excited for us, and I'm crazy about you and want to spend the rest of my life with you..." and then he pulled out the ring, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him.

It was awesome. I was in shock which was funny since I knew he would be proposing sometime soon. And I was so dazzled by the ring that I forgot to say "yes!" for a couple of minutes. :p

He had packed champagne in the picnic basket, so we toasted our engagement and called our families from the fire tower.

sunshinegirl did this place happen to be at the top of a mountain with a bunch of white windmills in the distance?

We have to get married so I can live where he does and we will probably go to the courthouse or something. Romantic isn't it? :p

I love how my BIL proposed to my sister. He picked her up from work to go to dinner and had a limo pick them up and take them to this lighthouse near Watsons Bay, they visit there every year, and asked her there. He's not an incredibly romantic kind of guy but it was sweet he put a lot of thought into it.

Nope, different part of the state. :)

Awww, thanks, sb129. I had tried to upload a couple of pics from the wedding the other day, but they were too big. I'll try to reduce them so I can show off my dress a bit. :) Such a shame we only get to wear our gowns for one day!!!

Mmk, was just wondering because I've been to a place in NH like that but it had a bunch of windmills in the difference. Very beautiful and congrats. :)
