VJW Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 I removed my X from Facebook.... It was harder than I thought it would be! Have any of you done this and had the X contact you and ask why you did it? What do you say? I have a feeling that is what is going to happen to me.
Peppermint11 Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Yes! Although, he never contacted me after I did it. I would explain to her "why" you decided to do it or, if you two ended on very rocky terms, I don't think any explanation is needed at all!
SimonSerenade Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Good man if she asks just say "It's for my own good" and leave it at that ^^ My ex has contacted me twice now since no contact and each time I've completely ignored her, I put myself first these days, Just keep in there and be strong mate!
Wilie Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Great !! One less thing to worry about, Dont just remove, use the block function so they can not force you to brea NC,.. your 1 day behind me on NC, we need to remain strong to regain our sanity. Will
TheUnthoughtKnown Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 When I deleted my ex, she didn't say a thing about it. Given that she was something of a Facebook-aholic I'm not surprised. She would have known it was an instinctive thing to do. However, I had my friends delete her from Facebook also coz when I was around them she was like the elephant in the room, you know? Me: So you been on Facebook recently? Friend: Erm, yeah. Oh, did you see Emma's getting married!? I never thought she would Me: (clearly not interested) oh. Oh, yeah. Cool, that's good. Hope it works out...anything else...new...happening...or not, you know just.... Friend: Erm...oh, Daniel moved flat. Him and Ryan weren't getting alo- Me: (Snaps) Yeah, but what about Julie? She seeing anyone or anything? It kinda got out of hand so I had them delete her. She then sent all of my friends messages calling them immature for deleting her just coz I asked them to! Da-y-um! Guess some people just make a huge thing bout Fb, but I'd say ex's def need to be taken off it. I mean, let's face it, in the days before social networking existed I didn't expect to be constantly told every single day what my ex was up to! I'd never have gotten over her that way. No one would! It's the same way I don't expect to walk into a bar and see every person's relationship status and interests hanging conveniently above their heads! Life doesn't work that way. Down with Facebook! :D:D
Fermentum Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 if its the right move for you, its the right move for you. I would go a step further and block. The first time you see the Profile photo when it pops up of the Ex with someone new it will set you right back. Out of sight out of mind.
TheUnthoughtKnown Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Out of sight out of mind. Haha, my friend if that were true the last 7 months of my life woulda been a breeze!
lee123 Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Deleting my ex's phone number was harder, i can't text her or anything now. :/ it was probably for the best though.

Have any of you done this and had the X contact you and ask why you did it? What do you say? I have a feeling that is what is going to happen to me. That's good. Now block him! My ex never asked me why I deleted her, she's probably glad I did. After that, I deleted my account. If it ended on good term, explain why you had to do it. But I'm pretty sure it didn't, so you don't need to explain to him.
