LOL.. I have to laugh to start this off, as I have no idea where to start.. Let's say my white friend "bob" meets a black girl "sally online, plus there is a huge age difference, ummm 15 years her senior, she's 28, a hottie, light skinned, holds an undergrad degree...

That's the scenario, now to some general questions..

  • Any of you white guys dating a black girl, specifically? White - I mean white, not form a third world country. Black - I mean black, not pakistanie, indian, etc.. just plain old black
  • When on the phone or texting, you could not tell this was a black girl by the tone of voice, vocabulary, way she expresses her self, etc.. Nothing to put her a notch down.. You would think she was white..
  • Age piece of the puzzle, she's 28, guy's 45.. When asked why she prefers older guys, she says maturity... That's a hel.ll of a stretch I think.. The 45 guys is hot looking and in shape :D ..
  • "Bob" is me :(

What's kinda messed up, is that this started off as a challenge a couple weeks ago; friends and I made a $200 (plus an extra $50 for every week sooner from 12/31/10) bet of who was gonna .. oh god, here it comes... who would FK a black girl first by the end of the year.. Yes, I will win the bet.. but I like this girl, and think I might drop out of the betting pool :( .. The $200++ is NOT the issue..

The issue? Typical stereotypical s.hit.. plus I am typically considered pretty much racist. or as I call it "realistic" ie "integration is the time from the first black person moving into a neighborhood until the last white family moves out". I am not a redneck, but the town I live in we only have 3% black people per the US Census, so pretty clean cut town. PLUS I have no problem with black employees, always have hired them.. and my best subordinate nowadays is black.. so don't make any judgments, please

:lmao:Lol BOB!

She sounds like catch- articulate and booksmart. Why do you feel hesitant about dating her? Or is it simply the color of her skin? If you're not a WASP, I don't see why you would be wary. Only the extremely selfaware are afraid of public reaction.

It's my belief that in order to break from stereotypes you live by example. Just because history says that Caucasians are racist, does not necessitate to you following in that step.

If you like this girl, please get out of the bet.

Wait, Alex, I thought you hated all blacks and wanted them all ----. Won't this attitude cause a problem in the relationship?

If she finds out she was a bet, you're gonna be a big-time louse in her eyes. And if you were representing me--a white guy who likes woman of color--I'd have to say I don't want you representing me because you're nothing like me. I wouldn't screw with someone else's feelings to win a bet. And making it about race is even more low-life. Other than that, Bob, I'm sure you're a great guy and a credit to your community. :)

drop out the betting pool before you can. :)

nobody will make judgments, if they do, i don't think what they say are worthy to hear. a single story creates stereotype. the problem about stereotype is that it's not untrue but it is incompete. it makes one story become the only story. therefore, you don't need to abide and believe the "only" story. with that said, you can live and lead your own story. :)

I hope this girl slips from your grasp. If she were a fly on the wall, I think she'd be in tears right now.

Pull out of the bet and leave the poor girl alone.

And Bob - With any luck, that girl is using you to win a bet she made with her friends called "F**k a NAZI before the new year!!!"

Hear, hear. What kind of a guy makes a bet like that? I think that is very demeaning.

Alex, sounds like you're a racist and I hope you don't date this girl at all, ever, so she does not have to be on the receiving end of it.

In theory, of course, I don't care who dates who of whatever race. I am quite white and my first "true love" was black.

Sounds like he is a racist? If I recall correctly, I think he is against nonwhites and gays all together.

Nothing to put a notch down......Wow do you know how you sound? I hope she runs far.

Funny thing is that every one is throwing up their disagreement with my situation, but not ONE person has said that they they ARE dating a black person or married, not back in the day, now / today! LOL

I'm going through with my bet, but definitely want to see her long term, I told her so tonight, that I was interested for the long haul.. I'll have to deal with all the sh.it coming down later on...

I'm not right now, but I did a few years back. I did not do it as part of a bet.

Here is why I have a problem with what your doing. If you tend to harbor racist feelings and attitudes, even if fairly mild... don't date people from that ethnicity. It won't temper your racism... instead it will assist you in actively dehumanizing whoever you are dating.

My suggestion is to drop out of the pool and recuse yourself from dating this woman.

That said... My guess is that were the ethnicities reversed most posters in this thread would take no issue with what your doing.

Until you can address the rationale behind this little gem of a statement, I sincerely hope you DON'T date this woman. For her sake.

Well-spoken black women do exist sweetheart. For someone who's middle aged already, you sure have a lot of growing up to do...

Haha, working upwards becoming, and now practicing as a corporate attorney. Soooo, basically dealing with slews of ass-backward older men like the OP who are baffled by the fact that a pretty, thin, young and <<gasp>> black, girl is their opposing counsel.

Agreed.

This thread makes my stomach turn. Sometimes I forget there are still people like this out there (you know, since it's 2010 and not 1910?).

Why bc a white guy wants to date a black girl? Wow, I thought it was 2010, gays in the military, gays preaching in church, and whites dating black..
