bsilmb Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I've heard that if your pupils dilate in a normally lit room when talking to someone of the opposite sex, its a subconscious sign of attraction and vice versa. Is that true? I was talking to girl who i suspected may have at least a slight crush on me and her eyes were partially dilated in a quite bright florescent room! GOOD SIGN? Also what are some other subconscious body language things girls do? Thanks!
Feelin Frisky Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Never heard that. Recreational drugs can dilate your pupils. Most noticably LSD. The pupils get so big the iris is no longer visible.
welikeincrowds Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Yes, that's true. It's part of a general flush. All of your senses heighten. I can tell you this: if you're gauging a woman's interest by how dilated her pupils are, then you're doing it wrong. Although I guess you'll be looking intently into her eyes, which can't hurt. I don't know why you're obsessing over body language. If a girl likes you, they don't make it a secret. They smile and they giggle and they don't shy away when you get closer. You know what you need isn't better clairvoyance but more assertion. Reading body language represents roughly 1-2% of the process. You have way huger fish to fry.
Titania22 Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Guys have told me this so many times, and I'll tell you what I told them. I have bad eyesight so my eyes are always dilated because they are trying to let in more light. Regardless of whether there is pupil dilation, please just look for other signs, and leave that one on the shelf.

Titania22 Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Has any date ever made fun of you for not knowing how eyes work? No and I know how eyes work.
fishtaco Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 It's true. But 5 minutes later, her pupils could be dilating talking to another guy. Don't draw conclusions. Plus everyone have different signs. A smile and a kiss on the cheeks could be nothing coming from one woman, but "ask me out" coming from another. It's impossible to tell. One the first thing you should do is observe how she is with other guys. If she treats you exceptionally well, that means it's possible she wants something from you. Maybe a date, maybe she needs someone to help her move her couch.
OldSkool Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Pupil dilation, aside from drugs and lack of ambient light signal some type of interest in what the subject is looking at. It can also signal extreme fear or anxiety. It is an instinctive reaction that allows the eye to take in as much light as possible, it also has the added effect of decreasing the depth of vision, much like the f-stop setting on a camera iris. It could be romantic interest, it could be that you remind her of an interesting insect she studied in biology class. Someone who is hungry will have dilated pupils if they are looking at an appetizing meal. As welikeincrowds stated. If you are only going by pupil dilation, you are doing it wrong. If you want more information about female body language, simply google "female body language" and have fun sorting through the tens of thousands of results. Peace.

Green Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Looking for pupil dilation is a bad idea. Didn't we tell you the main quesion should be "DO I LIKE HER?" not the other way around... then if you do LIKE HER.... TRY a) Go up to her and TALK/FLIRT b) ASK HER out (and then get her contact info regardless of her answer c) Have a date and KISS her So did you ever ask that other girl out? Is this the same girl and u just havn't made a move?

I did ask the one girl out. she accepted, I got her number and explained to me how she likes me, but because she dated that guy for so long, she's really hurt emotionally. so we are cool and maybe something will happen, but I'm not gonna lose sleep over it. thanks for remembering! I just heard a lot about how important body language is to gauge attraction. there's some stuff that means some girls on newspaper like me Jake

AND SHE SAID YES... but then kinda said NO... Well Dude thats great that you asked her out... and wow now you like a new girl... Just ask her out. (seriously to get a reputation as a guy with balls who asks girls out is not a bad thing... and you don't ruin the girls that say no... ur other girl may come around and start flirting with you again and in that case just ask her out again... blame her and her flirtin haha
runner Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 stares and then turns reddish...on second thought i think that's somewhere around horniness
Tim The Enchanter Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 I've heard the pupil dilation attraction thing, but it's not a very useful or reliable indicator.
Author bsilmb Posted November 24, 2010 Author Posted November 24, 2010 I've heard the pupil dilation attraction thing, but it's not a very useful or reliable indicator. well what body language indicators are??
Green Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 well what body language indicators are?? Look if you ask enough girls out it will become natural and you'll be able to tell things like if her finger is crooked in a certain way or whatever...... I've seen professors of anthropology and human behavior that probably have things like this memorized cold yet they have probably had trouble with women all their life... You just need to get out there and ASK WOMEN out... things you can do to make this easier on you are 1) Being in good shape (Don't have a gut, and have some muscle and not look puny) 2) Be motivated and striving and working hard and enjoying life toward that goal whether it be music, math, science ... what ever be pasionate about it and TRYING 3) Be pasionate and have FUN with women and TRYYYYY and 4) DONT OVERANALYZE!!!! Pupil dilation is OVERANALYZING
