SouthernSunshine Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 So my daughter is out of school this week, and it's movie time of year with the weather getting colder. Last night we watched Runaway Bride, and it was cheesy but my kid liked it. What are some good movies to watch with your (preteen) daughter(s)?
Liveinthenow Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 TheLovelyBones (tearjerker with great visual imagery throughout) My Life Without Me (tearjerker starring Sarah Polley) Dances With Wolves (for the love story angle) Avatar (expensive CGI clone of Dances With Wolves) Before Sunset and Before Sunrise (great highly conversational oriented love movie series) Lila Says Damn near anything starring or featuring Owen Wilson

quankanne Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 my mom and I always watched "The Sound of Music" together whenever it came on TV ... even when I was grown up! "The Princess Bride" also is a sweet one, gave a copy of that to my grandniece to watch with her mom/my niece
Author SouthernSunshine Posted November 24, 2010 Author Posted November 24, 2010 TheLovelyBones Just finished watching it, and I bawled my eyes out when the box was falling into the hole, as she was having her first kiss. It was a little long, and there were parts that I don't believe are appropriate for preteen girls... it was scary, and evil.. but overall, it was a good movie. Thanks!
AlektraClementine Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 My daughter and I watched You've Got Mail recently. She loved it! She's a bookworm though so it was up her alley.
