yellow Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Ive been dating this guy for about 5 months now.. we get along great, have fun together and dont argue much at all. He has almost everything i have looked for in a guy. He said his last relationship was about 3 years ago. My only issue with him is he is horrible at communication!! for awhile he was good about it..sending me cute text messages and calling just to let me know he was thinking of me on the days we didnt see eachoter. I told him we dont need to talk everyday or see eachother everday.. i have my own life and so does he. BUT, sometimes he will say i will call you later and then doesnt. when he goes out of town to see his family and friends its like he dissapears from the face of the earth. he doesnt call or text to see how iam, or just to say hello. it bums me out. and of course i dont call cause i want to give him his space. when he gets distracted with things i feel like he totally forgets about me. So guys.... tell me... am i over reacting??? how do i not take this so personally. i dont feel like im asking too much from him.. it would just be nice to know hes thinking of me when hes away and it would be nice to know when hes coming home!! thanks for your replies!!

Was he like this before as well? Apart from the cute messages? If he used to do this before (not calling you for days), maybe this is just the way he is. And probably you are overreacting.
johan Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 So you like when he sends little "I'm thinking of you" messages. And if he doesn't then nothing gets sent at all. Maybe you should learn how to send those messages yourself. "Hope you're having fun. Thinking of you." doesn't invade his space one bit.

I guess i just feel like its rude to not keep contact with me because i feel disconnected with him.. johan- you are right... i should make more of an attempt to contact him but i dont because i feel if he would give me a little then i will give it back. i can be stubborn. but if he tells me hes going to call and then doesnt i feel like why should i call. i guess i can try to make more effort myself... but its hard when i feel like hes too busy to be thinking of me.
