Hello everyone

Would anyone be able to recommended any books on positive thinking? Or any type of books along those lines.

Thanks for your help.

Straight up, I find self-help books useless unless you know exactly what issue(s) you're trying to address and it's written by an accredited psychiatric professional who's had decades of experience in the field.

If it's only about thinking in a positive or "can do" manner, the more you push yourself to do with small successes, the more you'll have the confidence to do and be able to maintain your self-esteem even if you don't manage to accomplish what you intended.

It basically comes from seeing the bright side in things.

Hi Dorian85,

There are many books on positive thinking.Just search self improvement books on http://www.amazon.com but you can also focus on your personal positives. Look what you're good at, your skills, your friendly nature etc...Surround yourself with things and people you enjoy and find inspiring. We are all different. One she doesn't fit all. Books on positive thinking basically say the same thing. I've read or glanced through hundreds of them. I recently read "the secret" while having coffee at Borders (book store) and thought it covered the subject quickly and efficiently.

Positive thinking is not about or only about having positive thoughts. The true name for the science is "the laws of attraction". To sum it up, any thought combined with a source of energy (emotion, usually a positive one, hence the name) can be transmuted into a physical equivalent.

For it to work you need to be very specific in what you are asking for. You need definite goals. Let's say you want a million dollars. You can't have a million dollars if you have nothing to offer in return, so something for nothing doesn't exist in the laws of attraction. But let's say you're a good cook, you could ask for a million and the laws of attraction would actually provide you with the tools, people, ideas, products, etc to produce the million.

For the million to eventually appear, you will need to visualize yourself and feel as if you were already in possession of it. Feel, without a doubt, that you are in possession of it. Imagine it in your mind, see the money, see the solutions. When you picture in your mind these things it's important to mix them with positive emotions. Once you have faith and a clear picture, you will soon receive what you asked for, in ways you might not expect. Faith is needed.

The author of the secret reveals that she did not know how everything would turn out when she arrived in the USA, all she knew is that it would be provided and everybody on her team had to have full belief that it would happen. That's positive thinking. Other books that are good are the Napoleon Hill series.

It doesn't have to be used for monetary gain, any goal will come to life if you apply the principles.

Good Luck

You don't need books.

No matter what crap happens to you, stop and think. Right now, someone is being raped, dying of starvation, or already dead. Your problems aren't so bad.
