alcantria Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 I have a weird problem that I have just discovered recently, and need your advice on how to deal with it. I have no problem talking to a girl in the grocery store at the check out line or chatting with a hot receptionist. But this girl I am interested in at school, for some reason, I just get really nervous and anxious around her. My heart kinda beats faster also which has never happened in the past! I honestly have no clue on how to stop it. I'm afraid if I keep doing this, she's going to think I am some kind of socially deprived psycho. Any advice is appreciated. /most pathetic thread of the year.

Don't look at her like the girl you want to date, but the girl that you go to school with, and nothing more. She's just a person. That should help ease your self. Just think of her as a friend or something and it will make it easier to talk to.

I will keep this in mind. fight or flight reaction, basic human biology/psychology Think calm thoughts, concentrate on breathing deeply and steadily. Focus Wow, you're absolutely right, it is a fight or flight reaction. I can't believe I didn't figure this out myself, seeing as we just went over this in sympathetic/parasympathetic responses in Human Anatomy. So deep breaths and calm thoughts, got it. Thank you.
