I was on birth control pills, (Loestin 24 then Femcon FE) but I hated the way it made me feel. I was moody and had no libido and just hated myself. I'm looking into getting Mirena. Does anyone have it and has any tips about it? Does it make you moody, do you feel the threads, and how do you change it, or do you change it or what? I need to know!

For the love of christ DO NOT DO IT!

I have never met someone who has had a positive experience with these things. My girlfriend has had it for a year an she gradually started acting more and more bizarre, like she was in a cloud. She dumped me and when I talk to her she says things that are very aggressive and out of character. A friend of a friend got one and after having never had any history of depression or mental illness she completely lost it and actually had to spend time in a mental health center.

Ah! Okay, guess I'm not getting that. Do you know anything about nuvaring?

I have it and it's awesome. It actually should have been taken out by now since it's 'out-date' just passed but it's still working perfectly fine. I very rarely have a period and when I do it's just a little spotting. I'm not moody or mental, and I don't feel any differently. I don't cramp like I did with the Copper-T when I had that some years back. That one sucked. I'm very happy with the Mirena. My only issue with it is the cost, thus the reason I haven't replaced mine yet, but considering I'm still not having periods I suspect the hormones are still present :)
