...dating a secret?

I was online and this woman updated her FB status to, " her name...is in a relationship"

And most everyone responded was like "HuH? Since when"

Some even of her closer friends were suprised she was with someone, there were no photos of her and her new boyfriend, they still don't exist on her FB Gallery (well at least not yet)

So why are people so secretive about who they date?

But they reveal it when the time is right, like it's some kind of unveiling. lol

because once the secret is out, people want to know all the little details.

Other times, people just don't want to jeopardize a potential date or give into false hope that a guy they're interested in will want a relationship. You want to have a solid grounding before jumping into a title.

my case is simple.

He isn't 'dating' me therefore why tell.

-His point of view in a nutshell-

Yet in all definitions this IS a relationship!

If he'd state he was in a relationship with me, he would become 'her BF' et al.

I like my privacy and I can be a very solitary soul, but I'd welcome being his GF!

I don't get the secrecy either. In fact, I use to insist the third date was a meet the friends group date because so many people are completely different around their friends than when they are around someone they want to impress.

If I couldn't stand their friends or how they acted around them, there was no 4th date.
