angelj Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Hello! I'm realizing at 27 years old I am terrified of dating! I've had a good number of setbacks in the last year. I met a new man online (just started the online dating thing) we exchanged emails for about four days then progressed to phone calls and texting. He works odd hours in law enforcement so we text often and he typically calls before/during/after his shift. The first few phone calls lasted hours. We were both surprised. We had our first date several days later which he took me to lunch, casino, brought flowers, kissed goodbye. A blast! We've had two more dates since and he has slept over (no intercourse) but we are both pretty sexual beings. We still talk daily, he's very open. His lastthree relationships were 4 years, 3 years and 3 years which ended about 6 months ago. He said he doesn't communicate with any. I guess everything is just fine. My girlfriends are over analyzing (the married friends) which messes my head up. For example, we have difficulty getting together or getting free time at all because our work schedules are so demanding but he has made ample effort and has repeatedly said I'm trying my best, please don't think bad of me. Yesterday I spoke to him before work and he was watching the game with his buddies that night- no invite. Didn't phasee until a friend said "he didn't invite you?? Hmmm" I'm just trying to enjoy dating and score a long term relationship. I've noticed he has lightened up on the calling and texts, but we still communicate (he initiates) daily. I mentioned he should call me after his game but no word. Am I just crazy?!

Just because he has little free time, does not mean he needs to blow off his friends and spend it all with you. It's hard to contain your excitement when you first meet someone, but ... sometimes ya gotta.
