Hi all,

I stumbled upon this site the other day after my g/f broke our relationship off. As devastating as everything feels at the moment I'm just glad that internet & sites like this are here so that people can share their thoughts / experiences as it really does help.

With this in mind I decided to start a 'break up' blog to detail everything... from how awful everything feels now, to how good things will hopefully be one day. Im hoping that this will help me, and eventually other people who find themselves in the same situation. There are so many articles online about the 'healing process'.... but I haven't found much that documents the day in / day out nature of breaking up and the subsequent up & downs.

Hopefully some of you will be able to follow me on this rollercoaster...

Writing a blog or even just posting here on LS will make you feel better guaranteed! your friends will be grateful too, because no matter how much they care about you, they'll eventually get fed up if you keep talking about her only, and that's what we all tend to do.

On top of that, you will have your personal log for a future reference, to see how much you've improved over time and to remind you of you mistakes so you hopefully never have to go through this again.

Take that crap off your chest and in few months you will feel a lot better. I'm almost 3 months in and I've made huge progress.

Good luck

I would strongly urge you to refrain from documenting any of your feelings electronically except for the anonymous nature of a user name here on LoveShack.

Eventually on the open internet or blogging site someone will figure out who you are and what you’re feeling whereas making a connection between you and your screen name here on LoveShack is almost impossible.

Why?

In time you will be over these depressed feelings associated with the break up; they will truly be a part of your past and you will be on to something else or with someone else. Believe me it will happen when it is supposed to.

When it does occur the last thing you want available is an electronic trail of your past feelings.

I suggest you start a diary on your computer; password the file and bury it somewhere in a directory. Everyday share your thoughts with yourself and return to read you’re thinking from the last seven days. Its great therapy. You will get to witness your progress with the healing process first hand.

Fair point... though I have found it somewhat therapeutic so far. I'm not really diverging personal details about myself so hopefully there wouldn't be any connections for people to make...

Exactly, writing down your thoughts is an extremely therapeutic mehtod. I just suppest keeping your writings as private as possible. It's funny how once you heal those writings will seem so foreign to you.

Best wishes.
