Mad Max Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Lately, people seem to be curious as to whether I have a girlfriend, or if I'm dating anyone or not. It doesn't bother me, I just find it odd that I get it quite a bit now and never before.
sanskrit Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 This is the kind of thing that many people don't understand about being an average to above average single man. Sometimes you are hot, sometimes not, sometimes it rains, sometimes it's a drought. Sometimes prospects are coming out of the woodwork, sometimes you feel like you have a third eyeball. Women experience variations of the same thing, but the curve of their experience is more smoothed IME because the average woman knows fairly certainly that she can get male attention and sex when she wants it with minimal to moderate effort, and the average man does not.
Author Mad Max Posted November 14, 2010 Author Posted November 14, 2010 People, or women in in particular? Both genders, more from women.
xpaperxcutx Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Both genders, more from women. Well maybe they want to know if you're single before they pounce on you. So are you single?
skydiveaddict Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Well maybe they want to know if you're single before they pounce on you. Probably the answer you seek, Max

skydiveaddict Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Funny If it was only women, then it would make sense. I've had guys also ask me. Unless they're closeted. Not necessarily, they might have a female friend who wants a boyfriend.
xpaperxcutx Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Not necessarily, they might have a female friend who wants a boyfriend. Or sisters. Mustn't forget about the sisters. On a serious note, something must be different about you from other times. Are you dressing or behaving differently that you're catching these womens' attention?
Author Mad Max Posted November 14, 2010 Author Posted November 14, 2010 Some people in relationships cant fathom that a person can be happy single That is true. Some people think they are defined by their relationship status.

xpaperxcutx Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 I do have hair now. Do I need to ask for an elaboration?
Author Mad Max Posted November 14, 2010 Author Posted November 14, 2010 Do I need to ask for an elaboration? I used to be bald. I have a guido haircut now.

xpaperxcutx Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 I used to be bald. I have a guido haircut now. Well you can't have a guido haircut, and not expect yourself to look like a guido My guess is that with all the craze for Jersey Shore and the antics of the people on that show, you probably look like the Situation or another.... and that's why people are strangely attracted to you.

I never got any of those comparisons. I get Michael Phelps, but not anyone from Jersey Shore. And I'm not even bulky like Situation or Pauly D. I'm only 165 pounds.

Actually, you should take being compared to MP a better compliment than The Situation because for all honesty, MP's abs beat Situations' anyday. 165 is neither skinny nor fat. I don't particularly care for bulky, just lean and muscular.

I'd be hesitant to call him even average looking. 165 pounds may not seem skinny, but people tell me I need to put on weight. Then again, most are overweight to begin with.

Calling him Frankenstein is slightly exaggerated. Maybe it's his height. At 6'4 he is immensely tall for a swimmer. The only thing I found extremely weird about him was that he eats 12000 calories a day when he trains. Depending on your height 165 should be normal. For a guy, I would not expect you to weight any less than 130-140, unless you're genetically prone to be skinny. I wouldn't take those people's words to heart since they hardly seem to lead by example given their weight.

Last time I was measured(3 years ago), I was 6'1". I might have grown to 6'2" since.

I might need to dig out the old BMI chart before I start dictating how much you should weight, although I still think 165 is a normal weight. It's really a personal matter. Do you think you're too skinny?

Do you think you're too skinny? I was 19 in 2007, so who knows? I'm not big boned, so I'm not meant to weigh much. I don't feel that skinny.

Well it doesn't matter. Bone density should pale in comparison to muscle mass. Do you have muscles? Do you weight train? Do you know your body fat percentage? Not trying to get technical ( since this isn't even the thread for it) but muscles mass and BF% would definitely make a person weigh and look differently. But back to topic.... if you're not bothered by people asking you about your status, no harm no foul. Edited November 14, 2010 by xpaperxcutx
