thebest Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 People love to talk about how a relationship should be. But how do you know if you’re in a healthy relationship? There are really no secrets of a healthy relationship. Whether you’re looking to improve a love relationship, friendships, familial relationship, making an effort to keep in touch and mutual affection, trust, respect, honesty, support make all the difference. Being in a relationship means being with someone you love. No relationship will survive if only one party knows how to love and give. Healthy relationship means getting to know your partner better and never stop. It means taking time and making an effort to build a firm foundation, a relationship that is unbreakable no matter what situation you face. A healthy relationship also involves support, cooperation and encouragement. It makes you feel secure, protected and well loved. A healthy relationship offers a nice balance indeed.
tykira Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 My relationship wth my parents is pretty messed up. There's practically NO relationship with my father and my mother's too lost out of her mind to even know what a healthy relationship is. Half the time she's controlling, selfish, arrogant and close minded and the other half she would act like the sensitive spirit who wants to be there for you and will do what she can to raise you up. I realized that in this life, you have to learn how to put up with difficult people like that and don't allow them to change you for the worst. I used to have a really close friendship with one special person, but it turned out to be one huge lie and eventually ended after two decades. I guess it had some significance, because after it ended all my other friends eventually went out to live their own lives and I became alone. But the good news is I learned how to be happy by myself and do things I was never able to do before. Is all this normal?
