It happened to me just shy of the 2 year mark and from reading other people's threads it seems like they also get dumped/ break up around the 2 year mark.

Is there something about 2 years that makes some people freak out about how long they have been together?

According to experts the honeymoon stage of any new relationship can last upwards of two years although most normally average between nine and eighteen months. The end of the honeymoon period can often open up one’s eyes to the faults and nuances of their partner.

While some imperfections are accepted some are not, as we all know. It is those imperfections that can spawn arguments or disagreements which may or may not be settled.

You mention two years but here are all sorts of couples who experience similar parting ways at three months, six months, one year…and so on. The honeymoon stage is truly a wonderful time in any new relationship but there are some difficult periods and stages to get through on the way to unconditional love for those who are persistent.

Best wishes,

I thought the honeymoon period was 3 months.

2 years has never been an issue for me, getting over 5 seems to be my issue.
