Hey guys,

So there's this very beautiful, very fashionable Korean girl at my school. When I say Korean, I mean actually from Korea. We have a fair number of Asian boarding students at our school. Anyway, we both like each other, and there's a lot of playful/slightly sexual touching that goes on between us. She speaks decent english but not perfect, and that makes me wonder how much she's actually compensating for her language deficiency with physical contact as opposed to expressing interest, but nonetheless I plow forward.

This past friday she asked me for my phone number. I gave it to her and had her text me hers. That's good. She also asked me (idly) to take her to the City sometime, to which I agreed. We both share an interest in fashion so I was thinking the mall might be a good place to go... but I'm envisioning a lack of free-flowing conversation and some stalling if we're just sort of going around stores. With her questionable English, maybe a movie date would be better? But that doesn't leave me with an easy in to ask her out... I can't be like, "So we should see a movie" the same way I could be like, "So we should go shopping like we said." You know?

I guess I should/could do it anyway.

I definitely want to hook up with her, and if there's anything beyond physical attraction there then I'd be happy dating her.

Questions:

1. What is a good way to keep conversation going at the mall?

2. Mall or movie?

3. She's physical with everyone. Should I take her asking for my phone # as enough of a differentiating sign?

4. Any general tips?

Answers: (Just one opinion!)

1. If the conversation is going to flow, then it will flow. You shouldn't have to keep it going. If you have enough in common then you will be able to talk for hours - whatever the situation.

2. If it's conversation you are after, then the mall is the best idea. Movies aren't ideally suited to conversation. :p

3. Maybe, maybe not... Sorry for a not very concrete answer - but it is hard to tell. However, what I would say is that she is obviously interested in being able to be in touch with you.

4. Be yourself - don't try to be something you are not.

Good luck!
