Hey everyone,

Trying to stay strong. I went to a couple shelters today.

Found a dog named Jules: 4 yrs old, they're not sure what exactly she is..pitbull cross of some kind. She walked well on the leash, and fetched.

Another guy name Titan: just over a year old, pitbull. Walked well and listened! He sat, stayed, and i kneeled down to him and he was excellent and affectionate. My parents are meeting both dogs tomorrow to see how they interact.

I'll let everyone know how it goes. Tomorrow I could be a proud owner of a dog. I wasn't aiming for a pitbull, but they both were quite nice, and I'd love to rescue a dog. They're the size I'm looking for, and I'd love to have a sense of accomplishment in helping out a strong breed.

Both dogs will meet my cousins purebred rottweiler, and should be a good indication as to their behaviour.

Good for you! If diamonds are a girl's best friend, and dogs are man's best friend, I truely believe we got the better deal.

I like the border collie mix we have at my parents. Got her as a puppy 11 years ago from my sister's teacher whose dog had puppies. She's smart, energetic, and the sweetest dog you can imagine.

Hope things go well for you. Good luck with the pit bull. I know a lot of people like them and say if they're raised right they can be gentle. Personally, when I see one though I walk the other direction

Be careful of pit bulls. They can be "nice" for months and suddenly turn nasty

Yes, I know pitbulls have grown to a name to which is hard not to criticise. But I truly believe taking it to the dog park and constantly on walks to be social it will make a lot of difference in the dogs life. Most people that get this breed are the wrong people for the job...neglect them use them for their agressivness.

Who knows I may not end up with either, but Titan won me over today, even shook a paw.. that's pretty good for a dog that's been in a shelter and lacked socialization..and he was neglected.

Some obedience training, and spending quality time with him will pay off :)

So, went back to visit those two dogs again with my family, and my cousins dog.

Titan was very excited and showed dominance towards, my cousins dog. He was sweet as could be to my family and played fetch and shook a paw. He just needs some obediance work, and some good socialization.

Jules was very well behaved, walked well around the block with the other dog. Played off leash quite well, in fact she was submissive.

I filled out an application for Jules, and should hear back in the next day or two.

Jules is a bit older, but I'd love to give her a good home and chance at living life. Most people wouldn't consider a dog over 2.. She did listen to me to a degree, but after a couple weeks with me she'd learn.

Good luck. Dogs are great. Wish I could have one in my apartment.

Thanks Ajax. My parents quite liked Jules too. Going to be putting a fence up in the yard ASAP.

U'll get a dog one day and it'll pay off :)
