colliejoanie Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 So, it's over with the guy I'd been seeing for 6 weeks. I'm a little sad, because I was really attracted to him and felt good in his arms. But I learned SO MUCH about myself! What NOT to do. What red flags to pay attention to. What I'm willing to overlook. Mostly, I learned to give myself a break. I've been out of the dating scene for over a decade, I'm bound to make mistakes, as long as I learn. So, I'm going on a hike with a guy this afternoon. We'll call him N. N is extremely attractive. Blond, suprisingly I've never dated a blond man. Maybe it's time to look outside my box!!!
Insanitylater Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I cant believe how superficial so many women are when it comes to what kind of guy they look for when dating. Like hair color really makes a difference in how a relationship pans out. Why does it seem people with low standards cant find a date, but people that nit-pick every detail miraculously find a date that fits the look they want?
SunsetRed Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Good for you...for picking yourself up, dusting yourself off and moving on. I'm glad you didn't waste any time or beat yourself up over the last guy. He sounds like he's not worthy of your time anyway.
elastica Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I like that you try and learn from your mistakes. That is a very healthy attitude. I hope you have nice time with the new guy!
Author colliejoanie Posted November 6, 2010 Author Posted November 6, 2010 I just got back from a WONDERFUL date. N is super attractive. He's very down to earth. He's funny. And our date was so different. We met at a trail head and hiked for almost three hours. Not a lull in the conversation. We said our goodbyes. And then he texted me asking if I'd like to go out again. I said yes, but I honestly have a crazy schedule this week so I told him would couldn't meet up again until next Friday afternoon. And really I want to take this slow. Breath. Have fun. Yay! This is the best way to get over some other guy! Huh. Who knew?? HAHA!!!
Insanitylater Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 But when guys say to find another girl to get over the last, they are viewed as pigs.

I'm still hurt by him, but I feel like I learned a lot from the encounter, so I guess it was worth it!!!
