That girl is beautiful. Plus, she has a winning smile and her body is actually quite sexy-curvaceous. And you consider her average? You're a lucky man if you're surrounded by women this beautiful.
I agree that this girl isn't average. She's above average.

That girl is attractive, imo. She's heavier than I consider ideal, but she's well proportioned and has a very cute face. She's hardly average.

IMO, she'd be quite pretty if she lost twenty or thirty pounds. That's the only thing holding her back. But I'd never call her average.

In downtown Chicago, yeah, I think they are. In small towns or white suburbia I don't doubt for a minute women are on rush street to meet a guy. That explains why all my friends from college from small towns or living in the burbs are all pretty much married. I like the city, it's fun here, there's great business opportunity here, but I've realized the dating market is less than ideal for a guy in my position. I really don't have much to offer more than the next guy she'll meet tomorrow, and she knows it, which is why she'll hold out if I don't take her breath away when we're introduced.

Hold out on what exactly?

And it only sounds to me like you need to learn how to flirt when first introduced to girls.

FYI, I have lived in 4 major urban centers and one small city. You're right, people settle down earlier in the smaller city. I always thought it was because it cost less and they tend to be less career oriented. In all cities though, most of my friends were always on the look out for Mr. Right. I doubt Chicago is much different than Toronto on that front.

Dude, that girl isn't heavy in the least. I'm a little heavy and I own that, the girl you have pictured is very attractive.

This is the problem, men are looking at women who are beyond perfect and saying "hmm, average" and then complaining when women do the same with them . . . (they don't like me because I'm short or balding or a but overweight) but its the same thing . . . . being petty about appearances.

When I knew her, she was 5'2, 140lbs. That's 20lbs over weight. 'Little heavy' was the only expression I could think of to describe her.

At the school I go to, there are many girls who are better looking than she is.

Not sure how I feel about you using her picture in this way however. Does she know you're doing this?

Cute/pretty..yes, beautiful...no. This girl is beautiful. I had a crush on her a few years ago before she started modeling.

I'm going to break the links in a few minutes.

I go to a college in SoCal where there are about 30k women, 18-22. The first girl I pictured is average. One thing I do agree with is that she has a great smile and a cool personality, till she decided to go no contact on me after a couple dates...

BTW, if she's not average, then what is? I hope we're (society) is not to the point where any woman who isn't over weight is above average.

that girl you linked to as beautiful actually has a less pretty face than the other chick. But her body is nicer, I agree.

That's actually less than five pounds over weight according to BMI charts, which are horrible because they do not take into account variances in build or the composition of the body. That girl is healthy and better off without you if the best you can offer her is "she's ok".

The second girl is beyond gorgeous and very slim. They are both beautiful women.

Average is average. It means you put people on a continuum from very very attractive to very very unattractive (and factors such as weight, build, height, cleanliness, dental health, attitude, manner of dress and so on) and average is the person standing in the middle of the line.

You are aiming at the top five or ten percent of a very narrow (cali college girls) group. You are not aiming at average.

Yes, you were bang on.

According to my BMI calculator, she would have been medically considered 3 pounds overweight.

I'm practically the same height as that girl, and back when I was around 145, my doctor said losing 5-10 would be ideal for me. Silly doctor must have meant 25-30.

3, 20, same difference. ;)

I must be in the minority but imo the blonde chick isn't any more attractive if you take into account styling and weight differences. Shrug.

Again, I disagree, but I realize I'm in the minority. IMO, 110 lbs is roughly the ideal weight for 5'2".

I think the brunette girl is more attractive. She has a prettier face and is closer to an hourglass shape. The blonde girl hardly has a waist.

But obviously people are going to disagree on which girl is prettier or more attractive, which is why this league-based-on-appearance-only thing is useless.

This is the problem, these guys have bought holiwood's line. Then these very average, flawed men turn around and whine when women want a man who looks like James Franco, Jake gyllenhal, Hugh Jackman, and the late Heath Ledger.

ITs the same thing guys, women have to be willing to accept normal non-holliwood men who may have a gut, or be short or balding and probably not rich. Men have to be willing to accept women who aren't the ideal weight, who haven't spent hundreds of dollars a month on hair and beauty and who are independently minded and self confident enough that they will reject a man who seems to be a bit to focused on their weight.

Medically speaking, she is only 3 pounds overweight. We're not talking ideal weight here, which is a very fluctuating concept which will vary from person to person. We're talking about the charts doctors use to determine whether or not your weight is a risk to your health. Doctors would tell her to lose 3 pounds, and then consider her to be at a healthy weight.

We're not talking about ideal weight. More expectations of what's described as average.

Really?

IMO, she actually looked better in person. Super sweet girl too.

I think my theory was proven to be true.

Actually no. Chelsea was way above my league and I did not try to get her. She was also in a LDR with a BF in Hawaii.

I don't even bother tying to get girls like that because I know I don't have a chance.

That's actually less than five pounds over weight according to BMI charts, which are horrible because they do not take into account variances in build or the composition of the body.

Oh, you're right. 135 is actually in the normal range. I was confused because the girl I was into before her was 5'2, 120 and she didn't look that skinny. I don't know how broad the range is.

That's why men use a 1-10 scale of rating women.

The blonde girl is what I would consider a 10. The brunette is probably a 7. Which means she is technically above average but...

You are aiming at the top five or ten percent of a very narrow (cali college girls) group. You are not aiming at average.

Which makes things difficult with the number system is that most young women are above average. Which actually doesn't make sense. But If the vast majority of young women are above avearge and somebody doesn't stand out, then they are avearge for that group.

Maybe it's just me but the brunette seems like her teeth stick out. I agree that she has a nice hourglass figure but would she keep it if she lost weight? She is quite attractive.

Coming along way late, but back on topic hopefully.

Its common to project our expectations thru our mannerisms and conversations....

SO most times its the silent vibes folks give that are either welcoming a person into the flock or deterring them from being a part of....

I enjoy the quirkier folks who don't give a hoot-n-hollr but walk to the beat of there own drum.....ITs called being their own person...they can fine dine one day and then go to a full blown out bbq where the food is messy and greasy and they still manage to maintain a sense of fun and good manners....

Not a fan of : snobs, arrogance, SI (sexual intellectuals to put it mildly),body mites, materialist folks or anyone that cannot look a server in the eye and sincerely thank them for the great job they are doing!

Bottom line: Your expectations are different then standards....fine line to understand the difference...but its there...I have standards and Little expectations as life is an adventure! Seems to solve half the dilema!

I think it is all about numbers. If a 5-guy puts himself out to 1000 10-girls he is bound to get one, and bound to get one he likes.

I never had trouble meeting a new guy because I am pretty extroverted. I also meet new people all of the time and always stop to chat with different folks. Esp when I was younger.

Despite my weight I occasionally still get hit on (it was out of control when I was pregnant).

I even got hit on in the grocery store not too long ago.

Also I do not wear a wedding ring, we were too broke to get them when we got married and things haven't been much better since.
