Omei Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Just a little something I wrote for my SO right before I went to the U.S. to see him ----v ---My Special--- It's 1 am and I think of you, And all the things you've helped me through, Thease last few years have been the best, When i'm sad, happy or a stress mess, You've always been there to guide me through, I couldn't think of anyone more special then you, You're the best friend a friend could ask for, To spend a life with you is all I dream for, Soon we'll spend some time together, And I know i'll remember it forever, The winter with my special friend, I wish the week would never end, Now i'll lay down to sleep, And drift off dreaming of us together. And another poem I found on the internet that I think is very lovely---v What I have with him is worth it. It is worth every lonely night, every tear I cry from missing him, and the pain I feel from not having him close. It is worth it because he is my one and only. When I picture myself years from now, I see only him. No matter how painful distance can be, not having him in my life would be worse.
aerogurl87 Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Aww that's so sweet. I write my boyfriend poems periodically when I have one of those "aha!" moments about something else I find that I love about him. Here's one I wrote him about a month or so ago. Sometimes I stay up at night, listening to the crickets sing Stare up at my celing dreaming of you and me. My mind races and I think of your silent touch The one that says care and love me so much. I close my eyes at work, when no one is around Feel my body drifting, closer to that distant sound. Across two thousand miles and one border of land I find myself there with you once again. When my mouth thirsts I reach for a coke and take a sip So I can taste the taste of your mouth linger on my lips And sometimes I cut out hearts from discarded plastic cards Hold them in my pocket like I hold onto your precious heart. Never for once, letting them slip away But pressing my fingers around them like these memories I hold onto day by day. And when I sleep, I go to somewhere between Earth and heaven's door And there you are as always, reaching out your hand to me for more. But when morning comes you have to leave, and once again a part of me dies. As you kiss me one last time, and the sun forces us to say goodbye

skydiveaddict Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 A little bird With a yellow bill Was sitting on My window sill I coaxed him in With a piece of bread And crushed His little head Sorry, just kidding around
Nemicron Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 If I knew you and you knew me, If both of us could clearly see, And with an inner sight divine, The meaning of your heart and mine, I'm sure that we would differ less, And clasp our hands in friendliness; Our thoughts would pleasantly agree, If I knew you and you knew me.
Nemicron Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 lol thats terrible A little bird With a yellow bill Was sitting on My window sill I coaxed him in With a piece of bread And crushed His little head Sorry, just kidding around
Nemicron Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 For people that are having a rough time right now. A smile costs nothing, but gives much- It takes but a moment, but the memory of it usually lasts forever. None are so rich that can get along without it- And none are so poor but that can be made rich by it. It enriches those who receive, without making poor those who give- It creates sunshine in the home, Fosters good will in business, And is the best antidote for trouble- And yet it cannot be begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is of no value Unless it is given away. Some people are too busy to give you a smile- Give them one of yours- For the good Lord knows that no one needs a smile so badly As he or she who has no more smiles left to give.
LisaLee Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I have been thinking for the last 10 minutes about poems that are touching to me and have come up short. I guess I'm not big on poetry... However, what did come to mind were a couple of passages from books that I would read over and over because I thought they were the most beautiful thing. Molly Bloom's soliloquy (paraphrased): ...I put my arms around him yes and drew him down to me so he could feel my breasts all perfume yes and his heart was going like mad and yes I said yes I will Yes. The couple in the story are both embroiled in affairs, but this line comes at the end of the book and is the wife remembering when her husband proposed to her. The other line I remember is stream of conscious writing, and for most would not be fun to read. But basically it is about a man drinking a cup of tea and eating a lemon bar. The combination of the two reminds him of a particular moment in his childhood. He ends with saying that his memories were "taking their proper shapes and growing solid, sprang into being, town and gardens alike, from my cup of tea." You would have to read the whole thing to get the gist of it, but to me it is lovely.

Author Omei Posted November 6, 2010 Author Posted November 6, 2010 I have enough words, Like spring has many flowers, Only those words fail to say, That of all the suns, Which I used to love, Only the Moon can compare with you. One of my favorite lyrics lines of all time from one of the most romantic songs I have ever heard by Vitas. If you care to listen.
Nemicron Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Your stepping stone Over the years when you've suffered a setback, and the reason for it seemed unknown. Did you ever consider that it was a lesson and that failure's a stepping stone? How you respond and what you learn from it, shows the world how much you have grown. You'll climb a bit higher toward the peak of success making failure a stepping stone. For you make the choice, in the way that you see it. It is your decision alone. You can stall in self-pity or keep moving upward making failure a stepping stone. So join all the people who've ever succeeded, and practice the courage they've shown. Learn from your losses but keep climbing higher, and make failure your stepping stone.
aerogurl87 Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Well this isn't a poem but it's lyrics from a song that always felt inspiring to me. To bad it's my ex boyfriend and I's song. Anyway it's from Your Guardian Angel by the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. When I see your smile Tears roll down my face I can't replace And now that I'm strong I have figured out How this world turns cold and it breaks through my soul And I know I'll find deep inside me I can be the one I will never let you fall (let you fall) I'll stand up with you forever I'll be there for you through it all (through it all) Even if saving you sends me to heaven
folieadeux Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Reading these song lyrics made me want to run off on a tangent. Anyone else have a wedding song picked out yet they'd like played? Come on, be honest...we all do it.

One of the first comments was "great for a sex scene". Definitely a great first dance choice, very unique! Mine is Biffy Clyro's Many of Horror.
