t0ri Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Is it normal for people in relationships to take each other for granted? Is this a bad thing? How do you know one is taking YOU for granted? What do you, if you should, do to change it?
dreamingoftigers Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 It is normal (or at least common), yes it is a bad thing, you know it is happening to you when you are putting in a ton of effort and seeing the other person not care what is going on with you anymore. To change it, you start by bringing it up and giving the other person the opportunity to help solve the disconnect. Further steps may be required down the line.
jimrich Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 re: Is it normal for people in relationships to take each other for granted? .... Normal for IGNORANT people (those who don't know any better). Is this a bad thing? How do you know one is taking YOU for granted? What do you, if you should, do to change it? ..... It's about good communication skills and relationship knowledge. I'd google: relationships and learn to make a good one..... or go by a library, book store or news stand and get busy learning something about relationships.
