ShadowU54321 Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I'm 19 years old, I've been smoking weed for about 2 to 3 years now on a daily basis (like seriously we go through a lot of bud). I feel like life is almost pointless when I'm high and for that reason I haven't had a relationship in years. I used to be into the dating game up until I started smoking pot. Could this be a potential threat to any future relationships

Author ShadowU54321 Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 I could agree on the quitting smoking thing, but I'm not completely sure about the army, I had a personal adult friend who went through the navy and said it was a good idea for someone like me but I wasn't so sure what I should do
skydiveaddict Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 It's easy. You just enlist. I think your life needs some direction. The military is the best place to get that.
nikayla Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 ShadowU54321: Are you smoking weed around your potential girlfriends. I have never had a problem with men smoking pot, as long as it wasn't done in my presence because I hate the smell. Often, people who smoke weed on a daily basis are thought to be lazy, unmotivated, and without direction in life. Perhaps these women have associated these negative stereotypes with you. Do you hang around other men who smoke pot? If so, how do they attract women? Onto the military thing: Can you truly deal with someone giving you orders and determining your daily schedule? It is easy for people on the internet to encourage you to join the military, but I doubt many would give the same advice to their children or siblings. I urge you to join the navy as an officer, if possible. They offer scholarships to young men to complete their education. Moreover, are you good at sports? Many colleges are looking for athletes! The thing is, you're 19...you have age on your side. Do not even think about signing a military contract unless you have A) identified how the military can work for you, and B) have a backup plan. Good luck!
veggirl Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Well you probably aren't going to find a significant other in anyone who doesn't smoke daily if you are smoking daily so I suppose it depends on what you are looking for in a partner, but cutting back surely can't hurt.
Author ShadowU54321 Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 I do have many other friends that I smoke with on a daily basis and they get girls all the time but they don't exactly have girlfriends, they're the type of guys that lure a girl into their pants and then that's it, no personal attachment. I find it hard to find someone who will accept a everyday smoker because like you said, most people probably see me as a lazy, no-good, pothead thats more worried about when he gets his next smoke than actually doing anything in his life, I can see how this could hurt me in the long run.
