chancellor Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I've been friends with this girl for 3 or 4 years now and I think I'm falling in love with her. I took a huge chance and told her I had feelings for her. I gave her a little gift to which she reacted very emotionally. Since then she has been really sweet. When I told her that I was going to take some Spanish classes, she rushed out and bought me a dictionary. I just about cried. How can anyone (other than my mother) be so thoughtful? I could swear that she has feelings for me too but she's so hard to read and I don't want to risk our friendship. We just spent hours talking and neither of us made a move. I really like her and I don't know what to do. Help!

loverofloveandstuff Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 You just about cried??? Stop getting so emotional, most women do not find that attractive. How did she react when you told her you liked her? Did she say anything?
Eeyore79 Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Girls tend to be pleased when you give them gifts, and they also tend to reciprocate. This in itself doesn't mean that she's interested in you; she would probably do the same for anyone she considered to be a friend. Buying a dictionary for someone who's taking a class is just a sweet friendly thing to do, it doesn't necessarily convey interest. The thing that will tell whether she's interested or not is exactly what she said when you confessed your feelings. Did she react positively, or was she dismissive?
Author chancellor Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 When I told her about my feelings, she seemed very emotional but we didn't jump on each other or anything. I didn't tell her I love her or anything, just that I have feelings for her. We've known each other for so long I knew this would take a while. She's been in touch more often since then and I also took her gift as a sign of interest, as I had never received a gift when it's not my birthday before. I dont see this being a regular occurence either.
