db05 Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 I recently started going out and dating again. I also recently had a break up with my ex girl friend of 4 years. Well I meet a girl this last weekend and got her number and we meet up last night for drinks. One thing lead to another and we ended up going to my place. Well she stayed the night. We didn't have sex but pretty much did. Well hears my problem, I wish we didn't. It's not the right time for me to be in another relationship, besides that I'm just not that into her. She sounds like she has a lot of problems and doesn't really have her **** together. My question is how should I break it off with this chick, should I not bother even calling her, or should I call or text her telling her I'm just not interested?
Author db05 Posted November 3, 2010 Author Posted November 3, 2010 Thanks for the reply, In the morning I dropped her off at her car. She told me that i should call her later and I said ok, do you think I owe it to her to call or no don't call

ReturnToSender Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Wow...now we know why guys dont call after sex! Aye!!! You agreed to call her, so at least the courtesy of doing so would be the right thing to do. At least save her the whole upset of feeling like someone you just used for the night then dropped off without a second thought...that you are wondering what to do makes me think that wasnt your intention and youre not that kind of guy. And wouldnt it suck if you had an interest in someone, it so happened slept with her soon but then she never contacted you again? How would that make you feel? Treat this girl the way youd want to be treated if the tables were turned I guess...

The reason that you need to call her is that you said you would, so keep that commitment. Operate with class. Let her down gently. Tell her you're confused because you just got out of a four year relationship and your head is just not in a place to get into a new relationship so quickly. Tell her she's a great girl and "let's be friends." If she gets hysterical, just firmly tell her "I'm sorry you feel that way but if you're going to be disrespectful there is no point in continuing the convo." Then hang up and block her digits.
Author db05 Posted November 3, 2010 Author Posted November 3, 2010 Would texting be a good or bad idea
welikeincrowds Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 You need to call her, tonight if possible. You need to tell her you had a great night and you were happy to have spent it with her. You need to tell her what you told us: that it was irresponsible of you to take her to your place, because now that you've had time to get a clear head, you realize that you moved too fast; also, that you've realized that you're not in a mental place right now to start doing stuff like this, having just come out of your 4 year relationship. This is not to repent. You need to tell her the truth, and to ensure that she does not feel used. You owe her this as a decent human being. Unless you don't care about that, in which case, just delete her number.
Alexanda Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I think you should just man up and tell her to her face that you dont want to be with her because you are not ready and she has too much baggage for you to handle. Breaking up with someone is never easy.
ReturnToSender Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Yeah, it doesnt have to be face to face, only one date and not much invested...but definitely a call not a text message!!
