Confusedalways Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Recently I've been seeing this guy. We're getting along great, there's interest on both sides-- etc, etc. Today he wanted to send me something funny to my email, so I gave him it. So the next thing I did was google his email. A website comes up with the football league he's involved in. They have their own website with message boards. Most of the threads are about football related things- but there's sections for other things, too. I can't stop reading it. It's nothing incriminating at all, it's literally sheer curiosity on my end. But I wonder-- is this an invasion of privacy? Am I way out of bounds? I've been trying to stop but I just want to keep looking at it. Is that weird?! *FWIW, I wouldn't mind if he came across something like that of mine- where he is clearly public using his first name, email and posting pictures of himself. I feel someplace like LS is different, where anonymity is valued, and would definitely feel like a creep if I came across something like LS on his end.
carhill Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Relax. You're curious about a part of his life that is separate from you. Perfectly normal. His postings are public. Both my ex and I participated on many internet forums and each was aware of and could freely read each other's postings. In fact, we both posted under our unique ID's on numerous boards where we shared interest in the topic of the forum. We still do, even as a divorced couple. It's a non-issue. We're all adults
Author Confusedalways Posted November 3, 2010 Author Posted November 3, 2010 thanks! I feel/felt kind of bad about it-- but you're right, it's just so interesting to see how he is not around me.
