Was doing so well, NC, keeping busy. Last nights dream just hit home how truly hurt i am from my ex. It was of her and him, and it really tore me apart.

Woke up and it was like I'd just watched what shes been doing since we've broke up. I was a mess and had a look at her FB and its a picture of them 2 on it now.

How can someone be such a backstabber, I've always been such a nice guy to her, always loyal and loving and ive been treated like ****.

Just accidently dialed her number by accident. Was meant to ring my mum but wasnt thinking and out of habit dialed hers. Now shes going to have a missed call on her phone, I hope she doesnt read into it.

Hopefully she won't read anything into it, and she won't even respond. The important thing now is not to beat yourself up about it and go imagining what she might or might not think. From your perspective it was just a silly mistake. The same as if you'd dialled the speaking clock. Just keep that in mind. In a few days time it will be forgotten

As for the dreams, I feel for you mate. I've dreamt about my ex the last two nights. On both occasions it woke me up at about 2am and I've felt so sh*t about it I haven't gotten back to sleep. From what you've said there's obviously a third party involved in your breakup (I don't know your back story - my apologies), which is the worst thing in the world. Keep posting on here and shout out for support whenever you need it.

The dreams suck. I hate them. Try not to look into them. I'm having dreams of my ex no longer with the guy she left me for, but I'm with some one else in all the dreams. They're not good dreams, kinda scary if I get into detail.

I can relate too and it does suck - because I feel like the nice guy who got backstabbed too. I have dreams of him and the girl he cheated on me with. Even though I wake up sad because of it, I tell myself it was just a dream, I can't control my dreams. Like the others said, don't look into it. Easier said than done, I know since We all have *****ty dreams.

But it is what it is - a dream. Nothing more, nothing less. Try not to dwell on it and focus on the new day you've woken up to.

You know, I've managed to do this a few times, and it was absolutely great but...it always seems to wake me up eventually.

That's common... try putting your arms out to your sides and spinning round as fast as you can. :)

There's plenty more tips on that website for ways to extend the lucidity.

You've obviously not experienced it then! I've had about 4 in my life, the last one was about a week ago. They are fantastic. If you like yours the way they are, good for you. But lucid dreaming is a well known technique for eliminating nightmares, or unwanted events in dreams (suc as the ex). Don't knock something you haven't tried ;)
