Right now I'm on Plenty of Fish and haven't had any luck, but I was thinking of trying match.com although that's not a free one. Suggestions?

I've had enough creepy old men hit on me over the internet to know that it's not a place for the faint of heart. I may not know much about these matters, but the online dating subplot in the movie Burn After Reading just about satisfied me that it's not worth anyone's time. Sometimes there's some truth in fiction after all.

Women don't hardly write back anyway. At least in this area, probably got like 10 dudes to respond to plus yours. Getting out and meeting people is probably your best bet. At least you can see if they are actually real.
sanskrit Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Pay sites are better because there is a higher percentage of people there not just messing around with bogus profiles or no real interest. I have used match when doing online dating and it's a good site well worth the money. Just remember online dating is another tool in a toolbox for meeting people, not a cure-all.
Tim The Enchanter Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 I wouldn't say that any one site is better than the rest, for the simple reason that a site is only as good as its members. I know that many people, including myself, have profiles on more than just one site. I use Plenty of Fish but it's a very frustrating site. I seem to have a much lower success rate (in terms of getting responses to messages) as opposed to sites like Match. I agree with Sanskrit, in that you get a lot of timewasters on the free sites. It's no effort for those people to create a profile on something like Plenty of Fish, and I dare say many of them simply join in order to have their egos boosted. At least with paid sites, you know that they are serious enough about OLD to cough up money.
