I have always been a strong advocate of calling rather than texting for a long time. I recently experienced again why I came to this conclusion so long ago. I had taken a woman out for 2 dates recently and things have progressed fairly well (While dropping her off after the second she said she wanted to invite me in but her roommate was home and thought it would be weird. I took it as a good sign as I was just expecting a goodnight kiss).

Anyway, we had discussed our plans during the date and we both seemed fairly busy for about the next week. I decided, stupidly, to text her two days after the second date. I asked her about 2 or 3 texts in "Are you free the middle of next week?". She basically totally ignored the question and asked me something else. I chalked it up to perhaps she didn't read the question and only the first part of the text. I ended by saying "I'll call you Sunday and we'll figure out something for next week."

Now at least I'll now when I do call:

1. If she takes the call maybe she did totally miss the Q

2. She ignores me I'll take the hint
