I've been married for three weeks, after a 2 year engagement. For some reason, I find myself referring to my new husband as my fiance. I can't help it! Can any married LS'ers give me some advice.

Its only been three weeks, and you resisted a bit getting married, right?. So give it time and don't beat yourself up over it. Course could just refer to him as your guy/man and that solves the whole fiance or husband thing.

After calling him your fiance for two years, it's going to take time to get used to calling him your husband. I've been engaged for two weeks and still refer to my fiance as my boyfriend on accident. It's not a big deal...

I always do this after a birthday, someone asks how old I am and I always say the wrong age. But it passes after a while.

I think this is the same thing, you will eventually get used to it.

What about when he went from boyfriend to fiance? Was it the same then?

What's wrong. I made the same mistake for 2 MONTHS after I was newly married. I kept saying girlfriend instead of wife. Some of my friends keep correcting me. Perhaps, in my mind, I was denying that I am married :lmao:

On a serious note, it will pass after a while. It's nothing to get worried about. I got used to it after making the mistake so often that I drilled my mind to remember the right term. :p

I returned to work the day after our honeymoon and some friends wanted to take me out to lunch. And I said "Sorry guys, I'm meeting my girlfriend for lunch."

To which another co-worker replied "I sure hope your wife doesn't find out about that." Big laughs all around.

I seriously wouldn't worry about this and congratulations.
