Anyhowz I broke up with my ex nearly four months but was falling apart for a long time before. I have a neighbour my age, single and I really like him- I know of him by reputation as a good guy:) When he drives past he looks in, waves and smiles, I walk my pooches a few times a week and only wave! I feel he likes me and I feel the same. I dont want to make the first move as I am old-fashioned. How can I get this off the ground??? I'm 30 and I know this sounds juvenile but I am quite shy with him and i'm generally a very confident person! Any suggestions?

I think you just need to continue to show interest and maybe somehow create a situation that will give him the perfect opportunity to approach you. If he screws the opportunity up, then you might need to do it again. Sometimes, some of us guys are a bit slow with realising opportunities so try not to be put out if he stumbles.

However, if you are really uncomfortable with this, then get yourself into a situation where you can let him make the first move. Pop round and ask him if you can borrow a cup of sugar. (Yes, I know it's cheesy - but it might just work!) Just to reiterate what previous posters have said. Sometimes "subtle" means jumping up and down and waving a red flag where men are concerned - i.e. about as subtle as a brick
