TLCbear Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Think with the heart or the mind? I try to think with my mind, but end up going with my heart, and have been hurt just about every time, so I definitely learned my lesson, from now on, I sticking with my mind...it's very powerful and always right.
skydiveaddict Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 First, you can only "think" with your mind. Your heart is where your feelings reside and it will overpower your mind every time. That's why people (including me) do silly irrational things when they are in love w/someone. As for me, I've given up on love entirely. but my advice to you would be go with your heart (feelings), you're gonna do that anyway, so why fight it?
Truthseeker-John Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Think with the heart or the mind? The 'heart' is part of the mind so the answer is both.

Nikki Sahagin Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 You can't love with your head. That's the practical, rational side of yourself. You fall in love because of your heart, hence why love is irrational and we can fall for people that hurt us. You can only love with your head if you aren't THAT into the person. Now that I look out for myself WITH my head and intelligence, I find I can't let myself fall at all.
thatsonlyme Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 according to some researchers, after approximately 4 years emotional love stops and that's when commitment comes into play. That's when we decide to start loving with our head instead our heart. that's when many relationships fail, because people don't feel in-love anymore. I wish I could explain this to my ex. our relationship was fine, she just wasn't in love anymore and decided to call it quits.
Nikki Sahagin Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Yes, what a predicament, as I don't think the head CAN love.
thatsonlyme Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Yes, what a predicament, as I don't think the head CAN love. It depends on how you define love. Lust and butterflies don't last long, once it's over, one can either look for excitement with a new lover or decide to stay with a person who makes you feel good, who cares about you, you enjoy spending time with and you're sexually compatible with. It's not that bad at all, it just depends on what you're looking for. I felt very comfortable with my ex, we had so much in common, enjoyed our time together, had our life together. I was content and happy, I would take that over lust ANYTIME! Too bad she didn't feel the same. That's why she want's to stay friends, we still have very deep connection but I just can't take it.
