folieadeux Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 A big hello to all the fellow LDR couples on the board! I just realized I never formally introduced myself, so I figured I'd take the time to do that now for anyone who's interested. I've lurked around this site for awhile before taking the plunge. It really is a great resource to have as I don't currently know anyone facing an LDR in my day to day life. My SO and I both reside in the States, he in the Southeast and I in the Northeast. Things aren't always easy, but we're determined to make it work. We'll be seeing each other again over the holidays/New Year due to demanding work schedules and other personal obligations. I look forward to getting to know all of you more and best of luck to everyone! The support system here seems to be a great one.
LisaLee Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 I live in Mo and have been in an LDR a little over a year with my boyfriend who is in Mi. I'm currently visiting him, but he has been having to study so much this visit, and I am going home tomorrow. We are planning on ending the distance summer of next year. We shall both be moving from where we're at to start grad school elsewhere. Welcome! Do you and your SO have plans to end the distance?
Author folieadeux Posted October 20, 2010 Author Posted October 20, 2010 Thanks Lisa! We don’t have a set plan of when the distance will be resolved yet, but we’re both willing and able to relocate so that always makes that decision a bit easier. I feel extremely fortunate because of it. That time will fly by in no time for you and your SO! I really think moving somewhere “neutral” is the best way to go sometimes. That way you’ll both be experiencing a new place and can go back to your respective homes to visit friends and family together. Hope you’re enjoying your last day together. Do you have a next visit planned already? That always makes things so much easier to deal with for me.
