I prefer to meet up WITHOUT talking on the phone at all. I generally hate talking on the phone even with people I know better. This is such a huge issue for me that I was recently e-mailing with some guy from OKC. He was really cute and we seemed to have a lot in common. Then he asked me to talk on Skype. I don't even have Skype installed because I totally hate it. He kept asking me to Skype every single day. I ended up not responding to his e-mails. If he suggested to meet up in person through e-mail (without all the Skype BS) I would have been super interested.

Yep I don't like talking on the phone. Apparently a lot of women prefer it so interesting to read someone doesn't. :)

Does he live around your area? I thought the consensus of using SKype normally falls on long distance meetups and LDRS. It's already bad enough people even suggest chatting on MSN and other messagers....

You did the right thing.

You need to call her to make her more comfortable before meeting her in person. Think of it as a minidate. That's what I gather from her response. I think she wants to go but is nervous about how it will end up.

I've also noticed another woman on here who was very willing to meet up with a guy after he talked to her for a while over the phone. It's somewhat of a comfort thing.

I agree with this. Calling >>> texting. There's a lot you can learn about a person from a phone call; I think you learn very little from a text. Texts, IMO, are really just useful to make quick plans, not to have a conversation.

She said her tattoo was her horse, and I asked about that; she rides horses. I told her that was cool, and tried to do some narrative/story telling like another poster here said.

Oh God........

I don't like talking on the phone, not even with my girlfriends. I prefer emails and texts for bursts of information and flirtation, and in-person communication for bonding and sharing.
