msommerlund Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Have you ever been in couple counseling or marital therapy? What was that experience like for you? I'm trying to understand better what it's like to have counseling as a couple. Your input would be really helpful, whether your experience was good, bad, long, or short. Like for example, did you guys talk about the counseling between appointments? *My name is Merete Sommerlund, and I am a Ph.D. student in the Psychology Department at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada. In my doctoral dissertation, I am investigating the experiences people have had with couple therapy (also referred to as marraige counseling, marital therapy, or couple counseling). *This type of research can help therapists and counselors develop better approaches to counseling, which, in turn, can improve the overall experience and outcome of couple therapy. *Your responses may be used in the final document of the dissertation, which will be a public document. If your responses are used, any identifying information, such as your user id, will be altered in order to protect your privacy. *Ethical approval of this research protocol was granted by the Behavioural Research Ethics Board of the University of Saskatchewan (Canada) on September 23, 2009.
