andys Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 For those who don't know my situation, I was dating a co-worker for a few months, fell for her a lot, then she dumped me around 6 weeks ago, she's now in a full blown relationship with another co-worker who lives in the same building as my best buddy, great (she lives in a different city 45 mins away!). She's still talking to me and being friendly, she also lies about him to me and says she's going out with one of our female friends, when I know she's with him, who knows why. Anyway apart from work I'm NC with her now, him I don't really know very well, but I do know his ex girlfriend who dumped him in july, and in a strange twist of fate we got chatting today and she said we should go out for a drink next week. Now is this situation just ridiculous? Basically him and me will have swapped girls if I take her out! We obviously have the same taste in women though, as I think she's very hot. Dilemma! She's not a co-worker before you ask! I will totally admit, turning up with her to a night out when he's with my ex would give me a lot of satisfaction, but it also seems a crazy idea. But I have no problem with the guy, she was single, he did nothing wrong.
carhill Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 He's not a friend; she asked you out for a drink; you find her attractive. Any questions?
Author andys Posted October 18, 2010 Author Posted October 18, 2010 He's not a friend; she asked you out for a drink; you find her attractive. Any questions? I suppose, it does seem weird some-how though, will it look like her and me are doing it on purpose though to get "back at them"? I used to know this girl like 3 years ago, not very well, but we got chatting again today, I'm not even sure if she knows her ex is with my ex. I don't think she speaks to her ex any more.
carhill Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 IMO, keep things simple. She liked you enough to ask you out for a drink. Don't over-think. Your ex'es are irrelevant. Enjoy
TomerT Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 your situation I would describe "Isn't it ironic ?" rather than "weird" Go to the drink, flow with this, enjoy life !
