And I am not one to let such blatant hatred stand unanswered. I agree that it's ineffective to have an intelligent discussion with some people in general, but you should know this thread would do nothing but attract trolls and just help no one at the end of the day. There are plenty of stupid things said on this forum every day, but that's just the norm, and you shouldn't let it bother you too much.

I think you're doing a disservice to your cause. I don't think so. Yesterday a thread got very insulting to women and when it was mentioned that it was insulting to women, Woggle and a few other posters said it wasn't a big deal because things like that are posted about men all the time. But I don't see that. As far as I can see, it is just an excuse to let the misogynistic comments slide. So I suggested he show me examples of the avalanche of misandrist comments on this site and he hasn't. I don't think gender wars are a good thing, but if you're going to give misogyny a pass because of supposed misandry you should be able to prove it.

Nobody in any of those posts is saying an innocent woman should be mistreated as some sort of payback for the actions of others like MD is saying about men. They are simply observations which in many cases sadly are true.

Obviously both genders are guilty but i think when youre a women who feels like your being ovelrooked by Men your gonna notice the overly shallow women bashing posts to prove your point and overlooked Men like myself will do the same the opposite way which isnt healthy... The only slight difference from Men and Women and why some Men may have a bitter tone is Men have to do the hunting so your average Man with no luck has to go through hundreds of rejections the women laughing at him for approaching or just being mean and he becomes bitter where a women just sits back and waits to filter through the options she has.. Not saying women have it easy or Men are right being bitter just sayign at times it could be a totally different experience for the two genders..

I hardly if ever read women bashing the entire American male gender the way men bash the he-- out of women on this forum. I think the smart thing would be for the women on this forum to not read or reply to those type of threads anymore. We should just leave them to their bitterness. It is easy to see why they have so many problems getting and keeping a woman.

There is a difference between observation and blanket generalizations and insults. An observation would be "on October 15 at approximately twelve noon central time, the lady who works in the cubicle across from mine said . . . . " a generalization is "All women are shallow and would rather have sex with a scum bag than date a nice man" . I have no problem with specific observations, however ugly they may be, I DO have a problem with the fact that I and many other very nice women who would probably go out with a nice man, if we could meet one that didn't dismiss us, get painted with the same brush as a few bad actors and a LOT of lousey stereo-typing. If I posted "all jews are cheap money grubbers" I'd get kicked off the boards, but its okay to say those truly nasty things about women? I don't buy it, and if it is true, then the boards need new management.

How do you think we feel when we are told that fathers don't really matter in the family or how we are all scum and even if we are nice we are only that way because we can't attract a woman otherwise? They've had bad experiences and are venting their frustrations. It's also pretty annoying to read posts where women complain that they found a hot guy and are upset that he used her for sex and then she goes out and does it again. All the while ignoring the normal/average guys that are just like the ones that post here.

You and several other posters have blown off misogynistic comments with "well, just as much nasty stuff has been posted about men." I don't think either gender deserves these kinds of slurs, but the fact remains that there are numerous, recent misogynistic comments pasted in this thread. My post of six or seven of them is gone, but Brainy Girl has posted several others. You have managed to come up with ONE post from six months ago that is anti-male. So, I think it is pretty clear that misogyny is a big problem on this board, while anti-male comments are rare here. I don't think either should be tolerated, but I'm tired of reading nasty, woman hating stuff and being told "well women here are worse" when they aren't.

Everyone has already said that comment was out of line. But why do you even need anyone to say it before you will consider condeming misogyny? Because I get sick and tired of some women getting hurt over what a man says when they either excuse or outright condone hateful stuff towards my gender. Not saying you do it but men are expected to listen to us getting trashed left and right while we get torn apart if we throw some insults back in the other direction. When I see that a large number of women are serious about equality and fairness then I will be 100% behind it. Until then I will take my side in the gender wars.
